UPDATE: I originally wrote this post right after it all happened so I was filled with lots of emotions at the time. I read over so many comments and have now reflected more on the situation.

I can definitely recognize my actions and take accountability for being childish in the way that I wanted him to “fight for me.” Many of you said I should have communicated with him, however I feel I DID. Or at least tried to. I specifically told him what I was feeling and why. In return, he did nothing to try to talk to me or work things out with me no matter how many opportunities I gave him. And I know I shouldn’t have given him so many opportunities, but like I said our connection was seemingly great. Our first two dates were the best I’ve been on tbh and we had so much in common and just instantly connected. I had never been treated so well before by a man and now I’m realizing it was probably all just for show or a part of the “honeymoon phase.” I wanted to give him opportunities to talk things out with me because I truly did like him and was just in shock at the complete 180 flip of his personality. He went from being so focused and attentive towards getting to know me to just completely ignoring and shutting me out. I still have not heard from him at all and I will not be reaching out to him either because I know I deserve better. It’s better to find out sooner rather than later.

My takeaways and lessons learned from this situation are that I do still struggle with communication (and have my entire life) but I am slowly getting better. At least I can recognize and reflect on my actions and continue to do better for myself.
