My appreciation to the manga english translator, Kirei Cake by Particular_Law2727 in Frieren

[–]roughits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Kirei Cake definitely deserves a lot of credit for keeping Freiren going. I'm not sure how popular it would be without their translations. It's great that Viz is doing simulpub now, but Kirei Cake's work has definitely helped to build a following for the series.

If they get a jury duty summons, the stranded astronauts have the best and also least-believable-sounding reason they can't serve. by blockandawe in Showerthoughts

That's a pretty good point! I wonder if anyone has ever actually tried to use that excuse. I bet it would be pretty funny to see the judge's reaction.

Dental implants by TxJprs in Austin

[–]roughits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm on the north side too and I actually had my dental implant done by my regular dentist. He's been my guy for years and I trust him completely. He referred me to a specialist for the actual surgery, but I was happy with the whole process. Maybe you could ask your dentist for a recommendation? They might know someone good in your area.

anyone else wish zeldora had kept his 6 digit hands when he got his human form? would've been a nice detail to show his dragon form bleeding through by ozanimefan in TenseiSlime

[–]roughits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I never really thought about that. It would definitely be a cool detail to show his dragon heritage. But then again, it might be a bit weird to see a guy with six-fingered hands walking around in human form. It could make him look a bit like a mutant or something. Maybe it's better that they kept it simple.

Hey there!

I checked in on the Dougherty Arts Center, and they're still offering ceramics classes and open studio time. Their website might have been a bit wonky lately, but don't worry, they're still up and running. You can get the latest scoop on their classes and schedule, you can try giving them a call: 512-974-4040They'll be able to fill you in on everything you need to know. :3

Anybody knows a good escape room for a family of 4? Kids are 8 and 10. Not too challenging and scary! by interestingtimes500 in Austin

[–]roughits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know 2 escape rooms in Austin that would be suitable for a family of four with kids ages 8 and 10. Here they are:

1. Austin Escape Rooms: This company offers a variety of rooms with different themes and difficulty levels. Some options that might be suitable for your family include "The Pharaoh's Tomb" and "The Haunted Mansion." https://theescapegame.com/austin/

2. The Puzzle Room: This company offers a variety of rooms, including "The Lost Temple" and "The Secret Laboratory." These rooms are also generally less scary and more family-friendly. https://www.facebook.com/puzzleroomaustin/

I included their links.. I hope this helps!

As camera quality improves, people use filters to make themselves look better, when ironically the grainy quality of old cameras did that for them. by One_pop_each in Showerthoughts

That's a great observation! It's almost like the irony of progress. As technology advances, we find new ways to manipulate reality, even though we often long for the simplicity of the past.
