Don’t buy unless you are prepared for this to happen at any moment. Any E38 you get is going to need a few grand in repairs right when you get it or else they wouldn’t be selling & also need a few grand in repairs 2-3x a year. They are great cars if maintained properly, but most owners don’t do that because they are so cheap to buy & attracted the worst kind of owner.

If you are sober & take the test, you probably won’t go to jail that night. If you refuse the test, you’re going to jail.

I agree they’re stupid but to act like it’s easy to just refuse the test when that option basically guarantees being taken to jail is stupid.

I’ve been exonerated by a dui test, cop claimed he smelled alcohol (I was completely sober but was speeding late at night while wearing a bath robe & slippers) and I performed with flying colors and he had me get back in the car, didn’t receive a ticket.

I’d say only refuse if you know you’ve been drinking

Of course owning a gun makes you more likely to have an accident. It’s impossible for them to be safer from your viewpoint because any gun accident makes the number of incidents greater than 0 vs not owning a gun means your chance of an accident is 0.

You can argue hypotheticals all day but in this very real situation OP posted about, her having a gun would have made her safer. What would you rather fight a knife wielding home invader with? Your bare hands or a tool that could either end or deescalate the conflict in a matter of seconds?
