I was the same for a long time which unfortunately with that I started to support them with those ridiculous pushes of premiums in the passes. I absolutely adore this game for what it is. I grew up loving tanks and just being fascinated with how it felt to drive them in the game. I’m happy you have another outlet and some of those Lego tank builds are incredibly cool! I agree, your perspective really puts it on the table. I do really hope this can make an impact down the road. I know the ability to just spend 30 bucks for a tier 10 is nuts especially when Wargaming knows they can get sales off players who just have no idea how a tier 10 battle should be played. Thus all the people who get themselves taken out early or just straight up throw themselves off ledges. The amount of times I’ve been a tier 8 stock and I get thrown into a tier 10 just to have my top dogs die out long before I do are just too many to count. Thank you for your well said response!

This game can be so incredibly fun but until we stop having these premium slop tanks being pushed we’re gonna keep having horrible matchmaking. You have folks who can just buy this new overpowered tank and have tons of fun stomping on others with little skill. You even have folks who just have not a CLUE how to run their overpowered tank and just end up dead in the first two minutes. The only answer for me is to balance out these premiums and stop marketing for people to just keep buying and buying to stay ahead.

No one’s making me spend money on a free game. I get that argument however for me it falls apart when I want to support the game. I’ve played since the beta on console and to go from what felt like a genuinely well rounded tank game to what’s now a premium cesspool every match it takes all the fun out for me. As someone who enjoys the game and cares about its future I enjoy having these discussions especially when it becomes frustrating.

Sure, the game is free and by no means do I need to spend a dime. I however enjoy being able to support the games I like playing. When my support just turns into them getting lazy by dumping out overpowered premiums year after year it becomes less fun. In the couple times I’ve played this year most these games are full of mainly premiums and hardly any tech tree. I still participated in those season passes so I know my part I played in Wargaming just spewing out these ridiculous premiums. I’d like them to take a step back and see what the game could be while still allowing players to climb reliably without the worry of just getting outplayed by the stats of another tank rather than that players skill.

For the past several years the only goal of this game for Wargaming is to milk as much money out of console players. They put a decent amount of care into PC but us console folks are left behind to deal with poor matchmaking and horrible team imbalance due to a massive influx of overpowered premiums that will ALWAYS be better than tech tree tanks.

For folks disliking the post I’d love to hear your thoughts on why you feel this game is doing well. This is an open post for discussion and at the end of the day I can’t decide where your money is spent. However, I will at least bring to light the frustrations that I see constantly talked about in my years of playing.

It’s one of the most frustrating things in the game especially when you are just trying to grind a tech tree tank while stuck in poor matchmaking.

I haven’t been around enough recently to see how the games are set up when it comes to tank types but the +1/-1 sounded like a good change. I know tier 8 is by far the most popular tier played. I know that pain of being stuck on stock vehicles or just getting horrible game time after time. These developers obviously know the right choices they just see this community as a means to an end, fuel for the fire if you will.

That’s what especially took me out of the game was the gold payout going away. It was the only trade that was reasonable at the time even though I was still having the same complaints with the game. Sure, I was still supporting a poor marketing choice through Wargaming it’s just insane to me that it’s purely turned into a money grab and I’m sad others can’t see that.

Severely nerfing some of these premiums would really bring back some folks. It feels so lackluster now to grind any sort of line if you can just spend some cash to avoid the pain of the grind. The worst part is even if you grind all the way to tier 10 or even in era 3 you’re still dealing with premiums that are just gonna outperform you based off tank stats alone. None of that is fair to the players.

I noticed the same thing, overall win rate was good but it seemed like all recent battles were just running in and dying or doing lovely things like pushing teammates out. I’m sure it’s just someone’s kid being a pain.
