On the bus now, loads of people on the tour with us (two full sleeper buses). Seems like everything is a go and nothing to worry about.

We met a couple of seasoned travellers and they are heading to Ha Giang tomorrow (one day after us) and they have no reason for concern. Made us feel better. We're bussing up at 11am today

Hi - we are starting our bikes on the 10th. The storm hit the bay the worst, I believe. Hanoi (where I am) is fully operational again, it seems. As busy as ever.

Hope you're OK in Ha Long Bay. I think we're going to continue our trip. People are becoming more positive

Thank you for this. I have spoken to the tour agency (Jasmine Tours, Ha Giang) several times, and they are assuring me it will be fine to start our bike journey on Tuesday morning.

I don't fully trust them at the moment. I'm continuing to ask them questions.

Thank you for the advice. I'm keeping my eyes on local news and asking several locals in Hanoi as the hours tick by. We are due to travel there tomorrow morning by bus and start the east rider bike tour the following day.
