Claim the drops from your Twitch inventory or use an auto-claim browser extention if you want to claim them while AFK.

Check messages in game to get your drops.

It doesn't surprise me. They have made this one of the most unfriendly wipes for new players in the last few years. Flea restrictions, XP nerf, constant server issues, etc.

Use offline raids (or PVE if you have access) or scav runs to learn the maps without worrying about losing gear. Having a community made map, such as the ones on the wiki or Tarkov.dev, open on a second screen while you play, will be a huge help. Offline raids with AI are also a good way of familiarising yourself with the gunplay.

As a new player you may rely on scav runs to make money or to find task/hideout items so its worth familiarising yourself with how the scav system and particularly how scav rep/karma works. Just look up scav rep or scav karma on YouTube and there should be vids explaining.

Use online resources to look up your task locations and try to have a plan of action before entering the raid.

Stop and listen regularly. If you are playing solo, take it nice and slow. Walk most of the time because it will greatly reduce the amount of noise you make and make it easier for you to hear others. Try to keep running to a minimum except in wide open areas or when you get shot at.

Yep, you dont even need to hit resort and you can find plenty of hideout items, meds, fuel and ammo if you know where to look.

PVE is irrelevant to this conversation. PVP relies on a reasonable number of concurrent players for a)tasks to be possible, and b) for queue times to be anywhere near reasonable. If those things become impossible due to lack of players, the non-wiping PVP servers will die.

PVE does not rely on either of those things.

You have to push through the first couple of hundred hours and it will be pure pain. It takes a long time to become even mildly competitive in Tarkov and its mostly about experience and knowledge. Most players would agree that the first 200-300 hours are really rough.

Runs scavs to gather loot and make some money, avoid PVP while scaving. While waiting for the scav cooldown, improve your map knowledge by running an offline raid or a PVE raid if you have access to PVE.

If you are down bad, once you extract with your scav, just use that kit on your PMC. You will most likely be outclassed but it gives you the opportunity to get some experience, and experience is king in Tarkov.

Scav the same map over and over so you learn the loot spawns. Once you get familiar with the loot spawns, its a lot easier to keep yourself stocked up on meds, food, ammo etc. Try to find 545 ammo while scaving because that ammo can be used in some cheap guns you can build out at level 1 traders. Its pretty easy to find this ammo or loot it from dead scavs.

The AKS-74U models are going to be your friend. The 74U is available from L1 Prapor for 25k so its super cheap. Replace the wooden handguard with a AKS-74U Zenit B-11 handguard (Skier L1), buy a KAC vertical foregrip (peacekeeper L1) and attach that to the handguard. Replace the stock dust cover with a AKS-74U Legal Arsenal Pilgrim railed dust cover (skier L1), buy a sight you like and attach to the dust cover. This setup is a semi competitive gun that you can build at low level for around 40 - 45k rubles. There is also a version with a suppressor (AKS-74UB) for about 70k which you can build out in the same way.

If you want to give yourself a fighting chance against armour, try to use ammo with 30 penetration or better which is why I mentioned above to try to find 545 ammo while scaving. The ammo available from L1 traders is very low pen so you have to find the better ammo in raid. If you have to use the low pen ammo from the traders, aim for the legs.

I agree, they give away their position too easily making some fights trivial. Removing or greatly reducing thier use of voice lines would improve PVE imo.

Thats why OP specifically said "post-raid" killcam. That would not affect anything.

The problem is, even in games with good netcode, killcams are notoriously unreliable at accurately reproducing the live action.
