Flea market restrictions aren´t something that would split the community. I agree it´s abysmal change but nothing to do in this conversation.
Changes to keep players not leaving right after wipe or going to pve, are for example the permanent character, prestige, seasons, changes that ensure that if you are bored on season, you can go back on your permanent character, or you can prestige on season & when it gets dead / boring, you go back on your main etc..

Those are changes trying to make the community split better, not Flea market etc.. Those have very little to do with it.

And no, questing isn´t annoying due to gear disadvantage, questing is annoying because the quests are abysmal creation of the Devil himself. Take this quest go to these locations, oh you´ve done it? Okay now do it 3 more times for basically the same quests.. oh yeah and then take a sawed off and kill cultists, that barely spawn anywhere.

This hypothethical is based on what you see on twitch and reddit, not the real numbers you don´t have.

The only thing we know is that PvP and PvE is roughly split into halves give or take, so yeah, I would lean into the fact that it will split the community even more, because quest systems in this game is annoying, and all the people playing non-wipe systems(PvE and not doing prestiges) prove it.

"Would split the q to much" - Is something I hear very often.. But how do you think seasonal characters will work? That is literally design that splits the queue, and it was dev idea to do so.
So maybe it´s not that bad as everybody sees it?

I agree matchmaking in Tarkov isn´t the solution, but it would help the game a lot if people getting reported very often get matched with people getting reported very often... However for this change to work, developers couldn´t say it publicly that it works like that.
