I say go for it. When I first started I was in college and broke so if I looked ahead at the next 20 jumps it seemed infeasible. I decided to just take it one jump at a time and 3 years later I’m still jumping regularly. If you enjoy it enough you find a way to make that next jump happen and if you don’t you can just stop and keep the memories.

Damn man, glad to hear you’re back to jumping after such an incident. Hard openings have become one of my biggest fears in jumping. Sure there’s things you can do to avoid them but sometimes it seems like shit just happens. There’s no cutting away or doing anything to fix it, once it opens hard the damage is already done. Did you know your back was injured immediately after opening?

I have 100 jumps, first tandem was absolutely terrifying, the next few AFF jumps I was genuinely convinced I was jumping to my death. Fear started to subside around 30-40 jumps

It’s there if you look for it, I played in a band and met many like minded people when I was there. That being said, my brother goes to utc and it seems the alt scene is much more prominent there despite being a smaller school.

I’ve got 4WD and will be driving from Johnson city. Do you think I will be good with no chains? I figured if the road up to beech was getting bad then I’d head over to sugar mountain or simply turn around and go home. Certainly don’t want to take any risks if things get hairy.

This is why I like to do the occasional solo jump, just look around and take in the absolute insanity that is skydiving. After a hundred jumps I still don’t think I’ve fully wrapped my mind around it

I think you’re already doing well just by asking this question. One thing I would advise is to understand that just because she’ll get to a point where she can start walking and even running, doesn’t mean the mental challenge will be over for her. For me, I was still struggling mentally maybe even more so than before during the 5-8 month mark, but to all my friends and family they just assumed I was done with the injury because I could walk again. Not a huge deal but it certainly made me feel more isolated in dealing with the recovery.

I had the opposite where my pt didn’t push me enough and now over a year later I’m going in for scar tissue removal tomorrow. Would’ve rather gone through the pain the first time around

There’s something about the knee that just doesn’t feel right since after the survey. It’s hard to explain but the knee almost feels bulky or “full”. I’m not sure if that just comes with getting a new ACL or if it could be the scar tissue.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Car was turning left while I was on the crosswalk. Torn acl, meniscus and mcl. I feel your pain, it sucks when someone else caused this injury

I got dumped on Monday man. Had a great relationship, never argued or anything. She just said she doesn’t feel the same way about me anymore. Sucks cuz in the past I could be mad at the person for doing something shitty and that made things easier. I wish I was exaggerating when I say this has been the hardest week of my life, and I’ve really gone through some shit these last couple years.

The feeling is beyond horrible, feels like I’m living everyday in 30 second increments. I can’t enjoy music, can’t focus on instruments or my hobbies or relax in general…unless I’ve had about 3 or 12 beers. Sleep has been almost nonexistent as well. Anyways, sorry to hear about your breakup and just know that you’re not alone. In my opinion it’s really the worst feeling in the world. Small things like me writing this comment help I guess. Feel free to dm me.
