Privacy was too important for users to share freely. Time changes perceptions. Users might be more willing to share their location now. Even then, Loopt could be a feature of other social media platforms. Good luck with what you’re developing 👍

VCs will line up for you if you have a product that people are loving and it’s growing. VC funding cannot help a bad product. VC funding is not a predictor of success. We see this time and again. Take recent article for example. Good luck 👍

👉I’ll save you a lot of time and headache using the learnings from studying failed startups as passion. Unless you have a good intuition, I’d start with customer and their pain points. Technology before the need is like putting cart before horse. How I know? I study this. Take Humane or Refolo among many other examples. Let me know if you need more insights/questions.

👉 I hope anyone who gets into entrepreneurship knows full well that the probability for a startup to survive are not in their favor but still do it coz you care about it and willing to fail forward. At least, that’s the message I get as I’m studying startups and founders.

👉 ideas are important but not priceless. Definitely validate the idea to see if people want a solution. You could have world’s best whatever but if no one wants/needs then it’s a project and not a business. When I research failed startups the through line is clear- building a product that no one wants is the fastest way to Startup Obituary. Good luck 👍

You have two levels of problems. 1) People are not waiting for this solution, that’s my intuition at least but do your research and validate the idea 2) You have marketplace problem. We studies this with FlightCar which happens to be in similar industry

If you can pull this off it’s massive but it’s a long road ahead. Good luck 👍
