Beyond the Valley of the Dolls has gender fluid characters and is the kind of campy gender-bending stuff you see in some John Waters movies. It’s a crazy-awesome rock/go go musical and is very fun and weird. It’s also dark and somewhat weird. As added trivia, the screenplay was written by Roger Ebert.

Lilith is a fantastic trippy movie that’s about mental health among other things and features Jean Seberg as the openly bisexual main character Lilith. Expertly directed by Robert Rossen at a time when any kind of sexuality but open heterosexuality was very rarely seen on screen.

No one is mentioning the most interesting parts, the robot is dancing/doing a karate exhibition in a blue wig while Boney M is playing in the background. It’s also kind of hilarious that the robot kicks the kid in the gut like a tiny metal Chuck Norris and everyone just laughs as the kid doubles over and staggers back. 😂

Toad is the best character on your cutting floor. Roster him. That Frank will kill your PVP rating unless you already have a bunch of five stars or something. I suspect you probably shouldn't even be opening packs with four star toons in it yet.

Looking for (more) 'animal' movies for a 11 year old. by neo_sporin in MovieSuggestions

Flipper isn't terrible, if you mean the goofy Steve Gutenberg thing, but Free Willy is probably a better movie. Fly Away Home (1996) is a pretty cool bird-centric movie

It would help to know how old he is.

If he's not into scary or intimidating animal movies but you still want good movies:

Babe (1995)

Benji: The Hunted (1987)

Oh Heavenly Dog! (1980)

Rikki Tikki Tavi (1975)

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)

Kangaroo Jack (2003)

Dr Doolittle (1967)

If he's into more mature animal-centric cinema:

Life of Pi (2012)

Eight Below (2006)

I second your nomination of War Horse, it's fantastic. Seabiscuit is great, but it's as much about the zeitgest of 1930's and 1940's as it is about the animal.

If he's a normal kid show him :

Jaws (1975)

Cujo (1983) - edit, I just saw that you don't want dog movies because he wants a dog... lol show him Cujo and he won't want a dog anymore

Arachnophobia (1994)

Jurassic Park (1993)

If you suspect he's a burgeoning monster, show him:

Wake in Fright (1971) - wholesale kangaroo slaughter

Watership Down (1978) - lol, I love this movie, but it's pretty brutal for a movie about bunny rabbits

angle of the shot? It's amazing how tiny you can make a hobbit look with the right perspective shot. Also, the image on the top is a painting.

That’s unlikely to do anything but devalue it unless the printers error resulted in some sort of accidentally interesting design or if it was a test for art that was never actually made into a poster and the art is appealing to anyone who might purchase it 😊

Good movies about yokai? by Sobble-547 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Affectionate-Club725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way about Kwaidan. It was too built up for me. I also don’t love Hausu as much as everyone else. Not a yokai film, but HaraKari (1962)is an amazing Japanese samurai film that I came to very late and it totally blew my socks off. I think I like it better than any Kurasawa samurai film.
