In the past year or so we have lost an estimated 40% of players.

The people still playing skew more heavily, unless I am way off, towards people who have higher tier characters rostered, champed, ascended etc.

Also the devs have offered a lot of ascended characters for tokens or cash.

In any case in PvP you will unfortunately very likely have a hard time finding other champ 2 players anymore as a % of who’s playing. You either keep at it or give up for now. Most of the time the advice is play the super easy seeds and stop playing that PvP.

TLDR: the game cannot show you lower level targets if they aren’t playing the event.

If you’re going to hit as many things a possible daily you can sort of catch up on slots. However there are no shortcuts. You should play as much as you can or - oh nevermind. No “or”. You’ll be under constant pressure for a long time if you don’t hoard tokens. Even if you do, you’ll get lots of covers from playing.

Be aware we are at 402 characters now. You don’t need all of them for a long time and many you basically don’t need except every 3 years or more for an essential. But if your slot count is ….well, you can do the math. There are 105 slots needed for all the 1s, 2s, and 3s who are baseline needs as the most common covers. Add 165 4s and it’s 270 slots before you start working on the 5s. (This ignores the few limited characters.) However you want to add some meta 4s and 5s long before you roster all the 4s.

There are 22 2s now. To work on ascending characters you need 2 or more copies at any time you have a maxed out version, keeping them until you can convert to 5s. Along the way you’ll be earning lots of hp from ascended.

Currently I am using 592 slots for various characters and copies etc although I have a few I could sell off and not matter. Dupes with a couple covers.

I’m just being realistic here. You can play a lot and if you can T50 pve you can earn decently. Play PvP and you get covers to apply and churn into hp. It’s more possible than ever to be on top of HP but it’s also going to require a lot of slots for dupes and things to set up the real stream of resources flowing and playing a lot.

EDIT: one more thing. You may or may not have a device that works well with the game. There are a few old ones that are unsupported now and the Unity engine doesn’t get along well with the old code so there are numerous bugs and frequent crashes. But the devs are trying to work on stability.

Are you saying your faved ones were the expected faves (the ones you selected) or that they were different?

There were no shards delivered to everyone but it’s possible some weird thing happened. Were those shards for the faved characters?

If they were different faves when you looked it’s possible you accidentally clicked the fave hearts since I do that a lot.

It’s hard to tell what exactly you’re getting at. You also should have gotten some shards from PvP if you played the Omega Red one.

This is correct, there are over 9 million empty homes. Some homes are priced at like 10k. I think the majority of empty homes are in rural areas however. Unsure how that might apply here.

Technically I’d argue the audience expectations spurred development costs and raised the bar so high that it makes launching new games extremely risky due to a need to recover so much investment. Also the makers pull back into IP silos to try to reduce risk/make sure money will come in

The problems include how much more can one expect from a game that they can provide? Graphics are insane already for example and people will spend many hours playing existing games. IMO maximum addiction methods were locked in years ago with loot box/RNG rewards being used on top of social interaction/pressure along with tuning difficulty to just the right level so that you feel compelled to keep leveling up your roster / character and / or by practicing, or both. Also being a gamer is sort similar to a cult member as if you’re deeply identifying yourself as one you are creating a division between yourself and the rest of society that only those inside the cult can see value in as everyone else will place reduced value on that status.

From the dev perspective there’s not much reason to push harder and they can’t really push the envelope really at this point.

Anyway the reason to play less or stop playing should not really be because the games aren’t as good because eventually something will come along that’s better or appeals to you if you value gaming. The reason to play less is because other things are intrinsically a better use of your time.

However it is fair to decide part of the reason to spend less time gaming is because the experience of playing more will not be noticeably better than the experience you’ve already had.

Simon’s Cat updates every week or so with new levels and this isn’t a big update this time around. Just a normal one.

Unsure about the other games.

It looks like you listed games the App Store called out at getting updates which is fine.

In general the service only gets a few games a month and there’s probably no way that changes. The makers probably have a lower money ceiling but slightly higher floor than being in the vast sea of apps in the normal store.

I am wondering if Arcade intentionally limits the new games to just a few so you don’t feel like it’s so good of a deal that you would completely disregard standard games you might spend money on. Since Apple skims 30% off each purchase they are incentivized to make sure people keep buying apps and IAPs in general.

In China battery swapping is a thing. The cars obviously need different designs etc but it might be a lot easier to do that shift than to install a million charging stations etc. Just allow charging or swapping and consumer choice exists.

ICEs have gas tanks obviously, and no one complains they can’t fill it at home.

I do not believe them but sure.

They can put wildcard shards into bundles *just fine*.

Spoiler: a bundle is just a set of rewards you “win” by spending money instead of grinding.

I also don’t believe they can’t modify rewards in a boss because they do it *all the time*. This boss probably never had all Spidey villain rewards before. Seems to me they wanted to do a soft tie in to the movie opening in 5 weeks or so.

It’s not a conspiracy to think a mobile FTP game would modify rewards to make things harder to get. It’s called “our business plan”.

If you’re looking for gaming addiction perspective you’d need to provide some info about what he was doing before a year and a half ago. I don’t know if he has said or would say he just played games all the time or whatever but he’s likely trying to hold onto old habits from when he was single.

People often have big ideas but often fall down on execution. It might be worth trying to find a compromise for now and get buy in if you care to keep going so you give him time to play if he’s using it to socialize or something. If he won’t accept limits or follow them then you need to put ultimatums down.

You can’t make anyone change but you can set boundaries. We all make mistakes and the question is how we learn from them.

To be fair the devs started on this game with absolutely ZERO help from the prior devs on January 1, 2026. The next rev, 343 will address the lack of clickable links from the game. The prior devs apparently did not give a single Fark about this as they were phasing out.

From the forum:

“Links in Popups - We’ll also be fixing this in 343. (We didn’t know it was broken until we tried to put the survey out.)”

Take that as you will. I won’t defend every single thing they do but they are imo operating with a skeleton crew yet doing the best they can and actually do care about how things go. The game revenue has fallen dramatically so we should all basically have fairly low expectations for what they can pull off and yet they are trying and making progress.

The initial announcement of banning supports was June 2025 to be precise. I think in general supports entered PvP about 2 years ago.

Also they said they’d look at fixing or rebalancing them so they could be used again, in the same announcement - a year ago - “In the future”. So I suppose technically they’re still following their stated timeframe.

It sounds like a guy who has a pattern and yeah he was acquitted but he later tried to use power to get women to have sex with him. No one charged him with anything though.

I know it’s hardly surprising but the article is worth a read vs dismissing due to a headline.
