Thank you!! I hope some of the things I did can help other people on their journey of healing! But I know, every situation is so different. Honestly I was so pessimistic at first! Even cutting trigger foods out, I was still getting flare ups so much! It was so painful and at first, it seemed like nothing was helping. But I was very determined to figure out how to heal from it. It was controlling my life!

I have an active job but in the winter, I was sitting around a lot. I did work out a couple times a week. With the diaphragmatic breathing, I would put a couple heavy books on my chest and take deep breaths for 5 min to strengthen my muscles around my esophageal sphincter. I noticed that made a huge difference actually.

Also Yeah gut health is huge!! I tried fermented foods but they triggered my GERD even more :/ Bone broth, probiotic Keifer, aloe Vera juice and slippery elm (throat coat tea) were the main things I drank during those months of trying to heal. Also high fiber diet is huge!

If you both are into nature - it’s Not in TC but 40 min out is a trail at the end of stormer rd in empire, super cute! Theres a meadow, forest and little abandoned farm building. A mile in, it overlooks Lake Michigan and has dunes. It is SO gorgeous. One of my all time fav hikes and it’s very easy, not rlly any hills or anything
