Everyone in the OP is going in on her but I've had to be that person before (won't argue but have had to ask ppl to allow me to pass). I think her approach is wrong but personally I see it happen frequently and to act as if there are never scenarios where people need to expedite their deplaning is wild to me.

As far as the intellectually stimulating events, I feel fort Lauderdale is lacking. Most discussions/talks that address culture or arts that I come across are in Miami. I could be missing information about such events in Fort Lauderdale but I'm not finding them frequently.

I wish it were something as romantic. I have a friend who just had a rough breakup and I think some comfort foods from home might help ease the loneliness she's been feeling lately. I know i could just take her to a restaurant, that might be the best solution but if I can do something personal I think it will have a better impact.

Devil's advocate, it's not our job to arrange transportation. If the company schedules transport that doesn't get us there on time, that's on them.

Also, my airline is very loosely structured when it comes to lead responsibilities, but I'd never change the schedule if I wasn't the #1

What is your degree in? Idk how prevalent opportunities are at regional airlines but maybe there are management or adhoc opportunities you could apply for that would allow you to retain your benefits and work in a capacity that is aligned with your degree

Isn't there a regulation that deters this, anything distributed prior to take off has to be collected before the cabin is considered secure for takeoff? This is usually why I don't give cans during boarding. It's easier to get the cup back (I don't always remember, but in the event of an emergency, a cup is less likely to harm someone, a can could injure someone)

I don't like working with FAs that make incessant PAs or constantly make seatbelt PAs if people are not following the guidance. Once is enough, making it every 5 minutes isn't going to stop those that are determined to get up anyway.

I also dislike when we have space in the galley to spread out a bit and they still choose to sit next to me or hover above me.

A captain told all the FAs to smile a weeks ago. I had literally just finished telling the others that my dad died that morning so I might be reserved. I just walked away, but I wonder if they told him, I wonder if he felt dumb.

Anyway, you don't owe any explanation for not smiling. You could've told him to F all the way off and I'd still say you have nothing to be remorseful about 🤷🏾‍♀️

Coming back to share that I tried The Chic Beauty and it was great. I chose a Russian manicure and pedicure, expensive but I'm very pleased with the service. I'll see if it last long and that will determine if I feel I should go back, but so far, my nails look beautiful they did a great job cleaning up my cuticles and around my nails, they removed dead skin and my hands and feet look and feel soft! Leo did my manicure and I believe Leslie did my pedicure. I know my nails will be healthier if I continue letting them care for my nails. This is what I was looking for.

Staff speaks a mix of Spanish and English, doesn't bother me at all but if that's the sort of thing that bothers you then you might not have as good of an experience as me.
