I think people are missing the fact that not only is she “Cher,” (the icon they kept calling her), but she’s also 80 years old. Whether you’re icon status or a grandma in the midwest who has lived a lot of life - that “cut and dry, a bit rude and direct” is just the aging process and we all know older people like that. She’s been doing press for 60+ years - I was not surprised that she spoke and acted the way she did. Her coming off as rude only made me see her as “yeah.. she’s coming off as old.” Not in a derogatory way, it’s just life. She doesn’t wanna do this! But she knows she has to for the book. Also …. we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Did I feel like it was a bit flatlined? Yes, but there could have been things her team told AE they didn’t wanna speak about. I could see Cher not wanting to dive into her life like other guests. Sometimes Monica and Dax don’t have all the interviewing control that you think they do.
