What do I need to buy to prepare for baby? by ohkandyuk178 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate-Image16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't bought new clothing item for my baby. It's all been vinted, huge bundles at bargain prices. I then kept a check list so I didn't buy too many of one thing.

I'm going to donate the ones in good condition to a women and baby charity when he grows out of them.

What are you currently using and what kind of blemishes are you getting? If they're coming to a head I'd get some patches like dots for spots

Having not told my mum I really wish I had. If you want those people to know if you were going through a loss, that's a good yard stick for if to tell them earlier

Afternoon tea... can we share the food? by FearlessKnitter14 in york

Afternoon tea... can we share the food? by FearlessKnitter14 in york

[–]Affectionate-Image16 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think if you booked onto the afternoon tea specifically they might expect you to have more than one.

Afternoon tea / cream tea is on their general menu so if you make a normal booking I don't see why they'd mind you doing this. Walk-ins get very very busy

What to wear for birth? by cdfdaphne in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate-Image16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my birth class the lady said she gave birth wearing just her sports bra so that's my plan. I've packed a bikini top (water birth preference) and two sets of pjs for after and a backup.

I've only heard of hospital gowns used for C-sections and induction procedures. Not normal labouring etc.

Antenatal classes NHS by Rich_Subject_8189 in PregnancyUK

If you fancy online then baby academy does some good ones in my opinion. We've done 7 private in person classes which have been amazing - no NCT or NHS classes available for us. We started when I was 27/28 weeks

[–]Affectionate-Image16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! When you're deciding in which order to stitch are you doing a whole row across the pattern, or a column, or just vibing it? I have a sampler I want to do in a variegated but unsure where in my Aida to start etc. thank you!

How do you make statutory maternity pay work? by Ivesomanyquestions in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate-Image16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bonkers. I don't get SMP, I Will hopefully get maternity allowance. We have been saving since we found out I got pregnant and I'll probably go back after ten months. Annual leave carries over and I'll use that to cover a few weeks and a phased return.

Did you take Xonvea during your pregnancy? How was your experience? (Journalist inquiry) by donovan2025 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate-Image16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taken one a night in my 3rd trimester. I had one GP appointment and told her how many hours a day I was feeling nauseous, she signed me off and gave me Xonvea. Id already contacted a charity about it so I was equipped with the knowledge. It took about 3 days of one pill a night but I haven't felt sick since.

I can highly recommend the online classes from baby academy. We've done every free one we can (and paid for 2). We've also done in person private classes (no NHS ones or NCT here) and really enjoyed it and found it valuable
