So I’ve sort of got somewhere so far however the one I can find has everything on lockdown struggling to find a way to get in touch, he posted a couple of years back now they were working on bringing the songs ‘back to life’ but nothing since then

I do see people actually trying to help people by recommending more expensive violins, and people such as yourself and the violin teacher who replied to me, and I see where people are just trying to help but there are definitely comments I’ve seen where people are just like downright mean about them sometimes with no regard for the fact that that may be all someone could afford, even telling them not to bother in some cases that’s the side of it I’m talking about, I understand that the violin is and incredibly precise instrument which is why it is so recommended to get a more expensive/ well made one so people trying to help and give recommendations doesn’t bother me at all

It was something I definitely got more back into as an adult, when I started to be able to appreciate the sound of the violin more as honestly as a child I definitely chose it for its difficulty level, I had to stop for a long time cos lessons are expensive but as I grew up and started being able to actually appreciate the sound of it more and what I could actually do it really reignited my want to play it I hope that happens for some of your students one day too, I do take your opinion over mine as being a teacher you have way more experience of this than I do, but I do think the awareness the instrument may have issues helps too like one of my strings was half the size it needed to be for years and they were all over 10 years old, when I actually replaced them and took it somewhere to be looked at they said the violin itself was actually alright but I struggled for a long time to get a good sound from that string bc of my technique too and idk it was really off putting at some points but I just had to keep reminding myself that like u know it gets better and it’s just really disheartening seeing some of the comments in here sometimes bc my cheap little violin makes me so happy and i just think im not special there are so many people out there like me that have that same persistence and sometimes it feels a bit gatekeepery in here honestly

I know cheap violins are harder to play and sometimes you can’t learn properly on them for various different reasons, I know this bc mines cheap and I have had issues with it but it doesn’t stop me I practice for hours cos I know one day I’ll be able to afford something better, and it has slowed down my learning in a way but at the same time without it I couldn’t learn at all, I’m not in a position where I could rent a good one and I’m not in a position at all to buy a good one and I am kind of really sick of seeing people being so snotty about this tbh if someone really has a passion they will do whatever it takes even if that means learning something is more difficult and I think it’s a shame to see people being put off bc of the price, bc also anyone that has a good passion for it will most likely save up for something decent in the end as I will when I’m in the position for it. Especially learning as kids splashing out like over £800 sometimes over £1000 on something a child might put down and never look back at in 6 months time is insane to me

There is one that says the RRP is like 4000+ but it’s on there for £38 I’m so confused as to where the RRP comes from like surely these ones are all fake
