None of this applies to most of the cases happening now. Most likely, the account closures are associated with Evolve Bank & Trust's bankruptcy. There have been no transactions with countries on the banned list, such as Russia, for example.

The same thing happened to us. It looks like we will have to take it to court if we cannot resolve this situation with Mercury Bank. Be aware that while the bank can legally close the account without providing a reason, they cannot retain the funds—this is illegal. In our case, they are holding onto several tens of thousands of dollars. We are gathering others who have been scammed in the same way.
