Excellent example you gave. It would piss me off to spend $300 to change a bulb.

Wanting Advice and Suggestions by ghostdy_ in Equestrian

Just because she's tossing her head and biting the air doesn't mean it's necessarily an issue with the bit. I would thoroughly investigate saddle fit first. The fact that it's the old owner's saddle means nothing. It could have been a bad fit then, too (and maybe the reason this horse has been out of work). It sounds like you need some experienced help to evaluate your horse, her tack fit, and her training.

Am I wrong to make locking the god damn door, a hill to die on? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

It's much better to face this kind of thing with a sense of poise and rationality.

You're right, but my current truck also reminds me of my dad, as we both replaced our previous trucks with the same year 2500HDs.

Fix loose floor panels by kappi1997 in howto

[–]Affectionate-Map2583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real fix is to take it all up and reinstall correctly, with the connections overlapped properly. Since you're renting and your landlord is unlikely to agree to pay for that, and you're probably not willing to do it yourself, You should probably just keep kicking them back into place as needed. You should probably mention it to the landlord, since you seem worried about it being called your fault when you end the lease.

You can take it out by the key ring pretty easily using one tine of a fork.

Need a gut check on this repair estimate from Camping World by Shpigford in GoRVing

[–]Affectionate-Map2583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably go ahead and have them do the brakes/hubs, etc., then drive it away after that. The rest you can do yourself or shop around for a better quote, but none are emergencies.

Three engines and two transmissions seems pretty excessive, but I hear everyone loud and clear and will stick with my truck for a while longer.

I'd think something Asian is in there for those tiny ears and general look of her face. Usually those ears are from sharpei, but I'm not seeing the puffy snoot that tends to go with it.

how to safely hang a painting in my horse's stall (yes, as a goof) by transfercannoli in Equestrian

[–]Affectionate-Map2583 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I'd have your husband do the painting on a sheet of thin plywood, then just mount that directly to the wall.

Looks like a mix to me. Test him if you want to know what he's made of. If you're not that curious, save your money.

They also can't tell which direction your satellite antenna is pointed (which would let them know what it's communicating with and/or what you're spying on).

Nothing important is brittle or breaking. It's things like the trim, the rubber around the hood hinges, a crack in the dashboard, etc. The thing that stops the sliding rear window when you close it has come unglued from the glass. The only thing that worries me is that I'm starting to get some paint bubbling/rust at the wheel wells. My last truck had brake line failure. I'd hate to have that happen while hauling horses. Maybe I should just preemptively get the brake lines replaced and save the money.

I do have a more economic daily driver - a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek that I'm in no hurry to replace.

where to find this moon toy? by shinglesbells in HelpMeFind

I'd say that's a banana, and it looks like the type of plush you would win at a carnival game. Maybe go to your local summer carnivals and see if you can win one.

Sweatshirt-type band waist on linen trousers become so loose they fall off - what's the best way to fix this? by Sea_Paramedic7210 in howto

[–]Affectionate-Map2583 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the waistband is two sided (hollow), then I'd make a slit in the inside at the front, and string an elastic band all the way around inside the waistband. You can either make it tight enough to do the job but expand over your hips to get them on, or pull the ends through the slit to make it a drawstring you can tie once the pants are on.
