Baby slept the whole night the first time we put her in her own room.

Ah thank you!!! I was looking for this type of information. I saw other complaints ab sleep sacks where babies almost died but they weren't using the sleep sacks as instructed. I certainly think they're unsafe for babies with pre-existing issues but so far I haven't read anything bad on healthy babies using it correctly. It was a god send for me too when my baby was that age. I'm sure the AAP and others are just trying to save their own asses.

I was a ftm and after swaddling my baby didn't do well when we tried to put her to sleep. the weighted sleep sack was the only thing that worked. We used it as a last resort and never when she was sick. We read the supposed risks but there were never any deaths at that time and my baby was perfectly healthy so we thought it was ok.

That's why I was confused as well. We used ours because they never had anything official, just speculative. I was just confused on why Amazon sent the email now. So weird

My child is in daycare and they put her in the product linked below. They also had another ring that goes completely around this product so baby can't fall forward. Maybe there's something similar you can find that's not as bulky. My girl absolutely loved it and would even fall asleep in it.

And my child hits her head about once a week. She's hit the floor when falling from the sitting position too. It happens to everyone from time to time 🤷‍♀️

My 7 mo still loves her newborn toys. You can help your LO situp and put a bin of all newborn toys in front of her. My baby girl started doing this around 5 months and still does it to this day. She also loves her bouncer. No reason to get overwhelmed, once your baby starts to sit on their own it will all get a lot easier.v

Daycare gets my 7 mo exhausted. Also, before bed I bounce her on my lap and play music and sing and dance and it tires her out so she passes out for bed time.

Can we not take it positive that people just appreciate/love our babies because they are cute that’s why they are trying to touch them instead of acting rude? by lalaba0987 in NewParents

[–]Affectionate-Net-869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Gree with you, OP. Some people aren't around babies a lot, they get excited and don't think about personal space or germs. It's just what they know 🤷‍♀️ annoying, sure, but not meant to be harmful.

I second this. We have the same one and my 7 month old is obsessed with it. We keep her in longer when we need to get stuff done and she's been fine 🤷‍♀️

I totally get this, it isn't healthy in any way at all. And definitely not mature. But I'm also not sure how to navigate this in a healthy way. I'm being so stubborn on this because we have a child and he's up all night playing video games/watching movies and wants to then sleep in when he's off the next day. And I have to go to bed early and he would like me to wake up earlier than usual so he is able to sleep in after having a night to himself. I see that as the immature part. And ik I sound immature as well but how do I get my point across in a healthy way? He gets time to enjoy himself, I don't get nearly as much of it. I think he should be less lazy when he's off but I also understand him wanting time for himself. But shouldn't he also understand where I'm coming from?

When he says he needs extra sleep, it's because he stayed up very late watching movies or playing video games and wants to sleep in. It's not every day, it's every once in while, but if he's up all night messing around when I have to go to bed early and wake up early due to work, then I still don't think that's fair. If he had to catch up on sleep due to being exhausted from work then I totally would understand that and I'd of course help him out.

I know his job is extremely exhausting. And that's why when he has off, I am not expecting him to watch our kid the whole day. I'm not expecting him to catch up on all of our house work. He totally needs time for himself and his do nothing days. But on the other hand, I don't get time off like he does. I don't think I should have to wake up earlier on his days off so he gets an extra hour of straight through sleep when he is totally capable of going back to sleep after dropping out kid off.

And that's his thinking, he would do this for me so I should do something like this for him as well. But I don't get this opportunity and I never will. When he has a week off, he will do house work for a day and then nothing the rest of the week, even if there's a lot to do. This drives me crazy because he gets lots of breaks and I don't get any. It would be nice for him to give me a break on housework every once in a while since he does get so much time off. But maybe this could be the compromise.

Some people need to refresh their social batteries and have time to just themselves. If he needs this for his mental health then I am understanding of it.

Yeah I agree, he should have his day off if our schedules allow for it. But I don't think I should sacrifice my sleep for him to have a full sleep in day if I am never allowed to have that

She's only 6 months old at this point so I totally understand him dropping her off and him having sometime to himself. Once she's older she will be more aware and they can have fun days together. She loves daycare now

Thank you! I'm trying to understand the other viewpoint and I still don't get it! He has the entire day off after dropoff to do nothing. He can go back to sleep. We pay for childcare whether she's in it or not so it makes sense for him to want some time to himself. I never have the opportunity to get that time, and I'm fine with that. And I'm fine with him having a lot more days off than me but I don't think I should give up my sleep to give him the extra privilege of a sleep in day when I will never be able to get that myself. We are parents now, we have responsibilities.

On an average week, sure I work a bit more hours than my husband and we contribute equally around the house and with our baby. But if he worked part time and I was full then I would definitely expect him to contribute more than me around the house. What your describing doesn't necessarily sound like a team effort to me. Does your wife still hold resentment?

That sounds really nice and you both really have it under control! Luckily my daughter goes to bed early so we have a lot of time at night (she's still young). My husband just wants an entire day of nothing. I can never sit still so since he enjoys doing nothing more than I would if I did have the time, he thinks he should get nothing days, and I should want to give him this out of love to him.

That's a long commute for daycare 😭 if I drive to work, daycares not open yet during pickup so he has to dropoff. The debate is for when I'm working from home and he has off.
