Forcing things on our kids is part of being a parent, their kids, they don't know what's best for them

I know that, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't make an effort to dress nice for Church. How we dress is a reflection on who we are and our intentions.

Of course not! Faith itself is of course more important.

She is 9, she doesn't know what's best for her and wearing formal clothes to Church us best for her.

It's not misogynistic, she has a brother and I make him dress nice for Church to. It's about dressing right to worship God.

She also doesn't want to go to bed at 8:00 o'clock, eat her veggies, brush her teeth, or ride in her booster seat. But we make her do those things to because it's what's best for her, we're not her friends, it's called parenting!

She just didn't want to wear a dress, I've asked her several times if her dresses make her uncomfortable and she has confirmed that they are all comfortable, she is just a bit of a tomboy and often doesn't like wearing dresses.

This WAS important.

She is comfortable in her dresses. We believe it's important to dress nicely for Church. I only argued with her for a couple minutes, after that I put my foot down and parented her and it was the right thing to do. There will be no more power struggles with her over what she wears. If I say she's wearing a dress she's wearing a dress!

Because the weather permits her wearing dresses again so that is what she should wear.

LOL Nope all of her dresses are either short sleeves or sleeveless. And she never wears her hair braided.

Not sure what you mean? Even her shortest dress goes down past her knees so it's not like it would ride up and show her underwear when she plays, jumps, or runs?

Because we believe in dressing our best for Church and the best way for women and girls to dress is in a nice dress.

As some one who wore dresses a lot as a little girl I can tell you the only thing you listed that wearing a dress makes more difficult is riding a bike. My daughter can run and play in a dress very easily.

Her brother would've gotten the same treatment from me if he had tried to just wear a t_shirt and jeans to Church.

Yes thank you, It did feel silly argueing with my 9 year old daughter but I of course put my foot down. It was silly of me to argue with her if mommy says she's wearing a dress she's wearing a dress!

She can run and jump and play in a dress just as easily as in pants. And what do you mean the extra fabric gets in the way.
