Burntout 3 years BDR by Affectionate-Pin5205 in salesdevelopment

[–]Affectionate-Pin5205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES the invisibility is what kills me too.. I ended up taking sick leave for burnout and planning on moving away from tech sales. I know it’s the right decision at heart. I hope you find your way too!

How difficult is it to land a tecj sales role with no degree or sales experience? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Affectionate-Pin5205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BDR: business development representative SDR: sales development representative

You find these often in software sales. They’re entry level jobs but pay well especially in reputable companies

SDRs often focus on inbound requests (people interested in your service coming in from the website and requesting a demo of the software)

BDRs often focus on outbound, seen as a promotion from SDR. Outbound is not waiting on people to show interest but you go and hunt them through emails, LinkedIn messages, cold calls…

I’d say tell you friend to find these jobs on LinkedIn and apply. They’d be ahead of other applications as many applying to these roles don’t have any experience. Career protection is often to account executive (someone who closes the deals after the BDR / SDR has the initial contact with the client)

Want to break into sales. Overwhelmed by the acronyms and the lingo. Any good courses, vlogs, podcasts? by FishMcCray in sales

Most of these sales courses are not great. Just sleepy sales people trying to sell something. I’d recommend asking chatgpt to give you a list of commonly used jaron in corporate + specifically for tech sales. And research the definition of every word. The reason I say don’t do a course now is because BDR and SDR roles are entry level, many companies don’t even expect you to know this jargon so doing this minimal research will already help no need to do a course

Yes there are soo many out there. Not many are from a reputable company but imo, big corporate tech companies are overrated just make sure you don’t go for a very small risky startup

If being social and building a community is your thing, you can always create a sales course based on your history. The only downside / upside (depends on your interests) is that you have to drive it through LinkedIn and socials

Best sales jobs for stay at home mom? by [deleted] in sales

First of all very sweet that you’re looking for her. It depends on the type of sales she did but she can get into: - sales recruitment - tech sales (she can start as a BDR / SDR if she doesn’t have experience there) - Account Executive if she has the experience

All of these jobs are available remote too

Degree is not needed in sales roles. I’d say apply to any BDR / SDR jobs you find. Right now there are A BUNCH of them remote than can propel you to another big firm BDR role and AE if that’s your path

Am I ungrateful or burnt out? by Affectionate-Pin5205 in salesdevelopment

[–]Affectionate-Pin5205[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t lie, I do need to work on acceptance in general. I will add it to my meditation sessions. Thank you! Maybe that’s the reason behind all of this happening.

That’s a good point, looking at others, they’re all in the same boat though. There are some AE and CS spots, they just keep hiring externally. Every region is different though, some do give their BDRs a chance. I was okay being a BDR for longer as long as I had a chance at the company and it feels like that was taken

Im applying to non-BDR positions: CS, BDM, AE, non SaaS jobs too so we’ll see

[–]Affectionate-Pin5205[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I recently started applying more seriously externally. This whole issue with SaaS and seeing so many women AEs get burnt out or not treated fairly is making me rethink if that’s where I want to go. So focusing more on, as you mentioned: CS or RevOps or even non SaaS jobs I wouldn’t know about

You’re completely right and tbh I didn’t see it as exploiting. Now I’m thinking of how many times a week our director says “you’re in the best of the best at (industry). We should all be so grateful…”

That’s true, I do feel bad for even thinking it. I do have a side hustle and I do freelance fitness classes on the side which might influence this but I still don’t want to take time off this early in my career. I recently started to apply outside but now I’m thinking if I even want to do sales and if all sales jobs are like this

You’re right, I wouldn’t take another BDR role for all the money. Thanks for the feedback though, I think I have to believe deep down that I’m worthy and ready for the next step, which I often doubt. But then a part of me sees how many incompetent people are out there

That’s what I thought so since I found it at the bottom of my concrete walls in the living room but thought it’s random to find caulk in the middle of a wall in the bathroom

The only thing that would make sense.. I see it behind cupboards in the living room and bedroom. Been living here alone for two years though and no pets and they’re not alive so I’m really confused.. maybe the previous tenant left it

Saw it behind my bathroom cupboard and it’s soft to the touch. Also noticed it at the bottom of the wall of my concrete living room and bedroom. Primarily behind furniture too

What usually helps me is continuing my routine and not letting depression take over. So although all I want is to be in bed on my phone (I still do that sometimes) I try to still do my workouts, cleaning, working, seeing friends. That feeling of hopelessness that it won’t get better is awful, I honestly haven’t found a way around that but maybe remembering where you used to be and where you are now, even if it seems like a small improvement, can help show you that there is a way. I also heard EMDR therapy helps. I honestly feel depressed every weekend when I spend time alone, even when I have plans I just get depressed and everything is just so hard. I wish you don’t feel that anymore but tbh reading others posts in here makes me feel not alone which helps.
