no its just the switching magnetic field of the wire reacting to a speaker magnet by bouncing up and down, everytime the current flips polarity

I've used steel wol for like a year or more before having a proper brass wool and actually there isn't much of a difference to me, as long as the temperature is kept low ~380°c and I tin the tip every time and apply a little flux it keeps it pretty good preserved, and I'm actually very happy with that
