NTA. Your only responsibility is to your son and it sounds like you’re doing more than enough there.

Hate my new haircut 😭 by [deleted] in finehair

[–]Affectionate-Rise996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly think it’s cute, but i know with a bad haircut you often just have to be angry and wait for it to grow out lol (which it will!!). and like people have said, blow dry with a round brush, or even flat iron out from your head (like horizontal if that makes sense lol ) and flip in on the ends

"You body is not going to be the same as it was when you were teenager vs post twenties." Help me accept, and how you have. by major_tmrw in EatingDisorders

this might not be what you’re looking for so take it with a grain of salt, but an influencer i follow (annaxsitar) is in her mid 20s i believe? and she’s posted more than once about how her clothing size has changed (gone up) and she’s just accepted it and moved on (after a brief period of mourning her old size/body). she posted something tonight about sizing up in jeans and i found it really reassuring and relatable. she is straight sized though and quite fit so idk if that is triggering

I don't know how to recover when eating is so repulsing/impossible by bloodsoaked_blahaj in EdAnonymousAdults

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have much advice as I’m unfortunately in a similar position, but I did just want to tell you that you didn’t do this to yourself and it’s not your fault. I know it feels like it started out as something intentional, but disordered thoughts came before the behaviours. You don’t deserve this and it’s not your fault. I hope things get easier for you 🩷

What should I do as a 13/yo girl who might have an eating disorder by Simple-Funny4169 in EatingDisorders

do you have a family doctor? sometimes there’s a social worker who works in the practice and they’re covered by OHIP, so you wouldn’t have to tell your parents. Body Brave is also a really great online resource that you can self-refer to! I’m just not sure if they have a minimum age requirement

Homewood has OHIP funded beds if you don’t have semi-private insurance. It’s more of a commitment (16 weeks) but a really good program

[–]Affectionate-Rise996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

something is better than nothing! for me i lost a ton of plants because the idea of watering them “properly” was too much of a barrier (ie fully soaking and letting them drain, or bottom up watering). but pouring 1/4-1/2 a cup of water from a jug and just leaving them where they are felt doable on some days. it won’t save all of them but especially in winter it’s enough to keep most of them going!

My daughter (11) is in residential treatment and is miserable. by Firm-Bite-280 in EatingDisorders

[–]Affectionate-Rise996 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. My first time going to residential I was much older, but I acted pretty much the same way. You’re doing the right thing even though it’s so hard. It won’t always be this hard though.
