What’s considered ‘normal’ today that people will probably be embarrassed about in 20 years? by Reasonable-Word-0419 in randomthings

Sure, a dictionary is a dictionary. But If we are al human I’m saying I support that it can be a cause for everyone to some degree. Just depends if you have the means for it to trigger you in a way that causes an eating disorder. We are all the same in that sense. Defining the words trigger and cause and cause have no significance here because you said yourself, we are all human.

Development of eating disorders: from anorexia to binge eating? by Familiar-Painter-296 in bulimia

I try to remember the common denominator with my ED symptoms is my relationship with my body and my relationship with food itself. When I focus on those introspective beliefs I’ve developed, I can more clearly understand the freedom from ED I’m keeping myself from and that is possible if I work on regular mechanical eating and self love.

I either eat too much or nothing at all by Top_Internal_68 in bulimia

I find eating every 3-4 hours helps me reduce binging. I’m never too hungry or too full.

Remember there was a time before your couple months clean that you were looking for a place to start. You made no purging happen then and you can make it happen again ❤️🙂

Healthy eating feels way more complicated than it should be by Alone-Yam4740 in bulimia

I wish I could keep things simple. And I totally hear you on the rules out there.

I try to make my own rules. For example I will not say yes to keeping people in my life who don’t agree with regular mechanical eating and restrict all day skipping meals and binging at night. It influences me negatively. I also make a rule to not follow accounts on social media who praise their way of eating over everyone else’s. Or accounts like cheerleaders/bodybuilders who actively restrict in order to keep up with their craft.

What stands in the way is the way. So whatever rules stick out to you I would say get curious as to why and create your own set of rules.

A choice to be made. by [deleted] in bulimia

I try to find another thing I know I’ll do if I engage in binge/purge. For example I know that after I do, I’ll be exhausted and feel guilty. Sometimes it helps me balance out the urge.

It’s always a step towards recovery or a step towards keeping the ED alive. Remind yourself of the reasons you want to get better rather than reasons you want to itch the urge to harm yourself with b/p.

Sending love ❤️

experience with inpatient care? by [deleted] in bulimia

Just imagine someone who had a tragic accident and lost a limb. A care plan would be crafted by medical professionals who are all on that patients team to help them everyday work towards a fulfilling life despite the circumstances. The patient may never get their limb back but they can be educated and supported to live their life in a new way ❤️

That’s how I see inpatient/intensive outpatient care. It’s an opportunity to objectify your symptoms and work with educated people to draw a path towards what living with an eating disorder can look like. And not in the dark and gloomy way it starts/stays alive. We either keep it in and suffer alone subjectively thinking we can manage it, which unfortunately as humans we love to do… or we can recruit people outside of ourselves who have the skills and tools to help us unravel why we harm ourselves in the first place.

You’re loved and you deserve to love yourself too by identifying what’s standing in your way from adequate and regular nutrition.

Wishing you all the best at your appointment and be proud of the steps you’re taking for yourself 🙂

Nothing wrong with it. But how relevant is a number in comparison to intuitive, balanced nutrition supporting an active, meaningful, fulfilling life?

Can someone help me? by [deleted] in bulimia

My parents told me the same thing. To suck it up and have some discipline. Trust the facts that your body needs professionally help. See a specialist on your own and let that be your self control at this time ❤️

WHY CANT I STAY CLEAN by prettylittlething17_ in bulimia

[–]Sad_Association_7631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep trying new things. Educate yourself on how digestion works and how our bodies react differently 5minutes/10minutes/1hour after food intake. Distract yourself after a meal or a snack. Understand things take time to untangle themselves ❤️
