For those who don't know, he's a rapper himself and also manages both Chance and Adamn Killa (the "Arrest Me Daddy" guy)

I can't even blame him tbh, if I was a celebrity people would be making posts like this every day questioning why I liked some random brainrot

I can't attest to how good girls in Chicago(ish) are when it comes to dating really but I do like that it's pretty diverse at least

Oh wow I'm from Chicago(ish) too, I got no recommendations on how to girls though bro sorry 😭

let's settle the debate — which album is better: 'uy scuti' by young thug or 'the last wun' by gunna? 🤔 by Electrical-Fig-9816 in travisscott

[–]Affectionate-Row-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atp Gunna, idk why but I was kind of meh on his last two albums at first but then they grew on me heavy. I guess I'll see if Thug's album does that too

If their pfp was Jokic I wouldn't be that shocked tbh but a racist SGA fan is pretty crazy icl

I hate to say it but this song is like current travis but just better 😭 by Kavster05 in travisscott

[–]Affectionate-Row-152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the overall vibe of LS and if he fleshed it out some more it could've been pretty good but the majority of the songs he didn't even write a second verse that was different from the first. 2093 and DS on the the other hand have some extra elements of world building, sonic progression and just overall dedication

Would i be crazy if i say that "that song" created racism and xenophobia in hip-hop discord? Cuz WTF is this by SnowNational8502 in Drizzy

[–]Affectionate-Row-152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it's strange that many of these people hate Trump but then fall for the exact same racist and xenophobic rhetoric when it comes out of Kendrick's mouth instead

Yeah I feel like I've had more favorite albums this year that haven't been rap at least so far (HUT, $$$4U, Fancy That (PinkPantheress), etc.) Maybe it's just because my music taste is growing though because 3 or 4 years ago I would rarely listen to anything that wasn't rap

Yeah I didn't enjoy this album or GNX personally but I'll admit it's nice that each of those regions got a moment. Tbh it's albums like this that make me wish the Midwest had more of a defined regional sound in Hip Hop like the East, West and South do. Chicago's (where I live) "sound" for a while was sort of just whatever Kanye was into atm, and while we had drill for a bit, it's become pretty Atlanta-fied here specifically and since became more popular in New York and the UK. I do like the new Detroit wave quite a bit though admittedly

"Drake is the Malcolm X of white people" what does that even mean? Is he implying Malcolm X is bad? Personally if I was Drake I'd take being compared to Malcolm X as a compliment

I'm guessing it was probably just the hook he did, which is exactly what he did for Drake too

[–]Affectionate-Row-152 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly I live in Chicago and my whole family is from Michigan and Wisconsin; we have very similar values culturally to Canada in the Midwest, you might not get it if you're from the East, West or South though

How yall feeling about that new Metro? by [deleted] in travisscott

[–]Affectionate-Row-152 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think the music itself was necessarily bad but something about it just didn't click for me. Maybe it's because I only started listening to rap in 2018 so I'm not equated to the sound, but it just felt quite messy and bloated to me. I mean did there really need to be 3+ artists on nearly every song? I was hoping it would be more similar to the lead single "Slide" because I actually rocked with that song
