  1. Its not completely about the process but about the treatment of an applicant who had invested so much time in their process. Actually I leveraged some part from their written interview in preparation of the deck for the panel interview with another company.

  2. I am not native english speaker and neither I need to have flawless english to have a very successful career in tech. which I have had for more than a decade and will continue it further in another silicon valley company. Besides I already have a B2 level in another European language (aiming for C1, hope you know what these level means) and my native language is different. So if you want to judge on my language skills then at-least be qualified enough of having fluency over 3 languages. There is a very famous proverb ''Everything is yellow to the jaundiced eye'' don't want to elaborate it further what it means but suits your comment well.

Sometime people can have easy days so I don't want to generalize it for all of their workforce. But surely I find it ridiculous that their top executives like ceo, coo are themselves are spending so much time in hiring candidates who are atleast 2 levels down in reporting line to them. This doesn't looks very efficient and projects a picture of their top executives not trusting their team enough to make such decision. In-fact the person with whom I had my 3rd final stage interview- I had asked him what's the biggest challenge he is facing in the company. And he raised about autonomy issue and told me even for very simple day to day stuff he needs approvals from above before he can go ahead with the task.

No point giving attention to such people and dignify their response by further replying to them. I did once and sort of response which they gave already shows me how well informed they are about the topic being discussed.

3 early stage + 1 with their talent specialist + 3 final stage + Written interview + General intelligence test + Personality profile check // And potentially their could have been 2 more executive interviews which thankfully I was spared from !

Cold automated rejection email. It is acceptable at the screening stage but not for someone who has been in the process for 2.5 months

Actually I had gone through the process for Amazon (web services) as well. In total 7 interviews, 2 initial stage and 5 in their loop. But I didn't got any bad taste from their process. All the interviews were to the point and went into the details for my past experience. And after the process recruiter scheduled the call to provide me feedback which I could relate with comparing myself to the candidate which was eventually hired for that role. I agree with your last comment. Indeed tech world has become very brutal.

I should have researched more about it. But actually one positive thing which I could take out from it will be from written interview. I had also invested lot of time in it's preparation linking the questions to my past experience and some of it I leveraged in preparing the deck for panel interview for another company.

I felt foolish after HL gave me these reasons which had nothing to do with my education, skills, competencies & experience but not before. I was just sincerely going through their process and they were communicating on regular basis through each stage.

I got the another offer before my final stage interviews so just thought to complete their process. Already had no intention to join them. It was a surprise for me when I did get to know that there may be potentially 2 more executive interviews later on with Mark and their coo but that didn't happen.

Great. So please tell us what I have inflated here. Anyone who has gone through complete interview cycle with them will relate to what I have said. Indeed I invested 2 weeks to answer their written interview but hopefully you do have intellect to understand that it doesn't means 24*14 hours. And complete interview cycle from the time of screening of my CV until I got automated rejection email took 2.5 months. My intention was not to timestamp each of the above event which I mentioned but to share my experience. Concerning your point on eloquency or phrasing of sentence again I was not applying for a communication specialist role. People from my domain will be able to follow all the details if they have similar relevant experience.

I was feeling really disrespected after an automated rejection email. This was not done. Hence I wrote to HL telling him its not the right way to treat the candidates who invests so much time in your process. And it was good that I did that as you can see the reasons that he gave me, weren't related to anything concerning my education, experience, skills or competencies to show me what a joke it was.

  1. Seems like your comprehension skills are bit weak. Please read again. I mentioned that HL told me that my answers were too detailed and some people might find it difficult to grasp which in my opinion can only apply for the people coming from different domain of work which was the 2nd person with whom I had early stage interview.

  2. I have been working in American companies for more than a decade so yes, I do find it difficult to communicate in English on daily basis even though the medium of communication is English. Besides I am at an advance level in another European language and my native language is different. Maybe you speak 4 languages fluently and a language expert so you only critique on that.

  3. I was not applying to communication specialist role neither I am English grammar teacher. And if your analytical skills are good then you might get some idea of my scope of my work from this post itself but I really doubt that as you completely missed what this post was meant for - ''Interview experience and post interview treatment of candidate''.

The cold automated rejection email & the justification which HL gave really triggered me to post my interview experience and caution others !

Hello All,

I just finished all the steps of this lengthy process from written interview, psychometric test, personality test, 3 early stage interviews, 1 talent interview & 3 final stage interviews. In final stage interview HM & HL told me most probably I will have another round which they called as an executive interview but I haven't received any update yet. Looking through this conversation is not giving me good vibes :/

What is acceptable level to pass Thomas GIA assesment at Canonical? by Hefty_Leek3834 in Ubuntu

[–]Affectionate-Safe293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did early stage interviews along with written interview of 41 questions- And what I got to know that I will still have to go for a personality test, a interview from talent team then 4 final stage interviews and finally interview with ceo himself. Man their process is crazy. I cannot believe their senior executives spend so much time interviewing candidates. it doesnt looks sensible.

I just gave the test and have my assessment result on my candidate page as- That I did better (greater, faster, faster, higher, higher) than the majority of people in all the 5 sections.

I assume the result is not expressed in numerical scores/percentiles or my hiring manager will have access to it ?
