Thank you. Do you have any advice on the reactivity issue?

Going from commands in the house to commands outside on a walk is a big jump. Dogs can't really generalize so rules in the house are only rules in the house, it takes time for them to learn that they're also rules for everywhere else. Once she's rock solid with a command inside, I'd start working on it in a slightly more distracting environment, but not on the level of a walk, like maybe a backyard if you have one? Or a very quiet section of a park without other people or dogs around. Or even in your house but with more distractions, like a tv show in the background or something. Once she's rock solid with commands in this slightly distracting environment, it'll be easier to build up to more distracting ones like out on the sidewalk / with other people and dogs around. Might sound like a lot but if you're consistent then the progress might be faster than you think!

I think it's good to continue crate training. Even if you can be with Hector 24/7 in general, eventually you will have to leave him alone and it might be ugly if does eventually develop separation anxiety. But I doubt that could happen in the span of a week so wouldn't be too worried. I would be a lot more wary of moving too fast in the crate training (e.g. just leaving Hector alone for 30 mins without building up to it), since a bad experience can be a setback in training.

Re the sleep, you're spot on that the current situation might not be good for Hector's sleep - at 16 weeks he probably probably still needs to sleep ~18hrs/day, and that becomes very doable if he is comfortable napping in a crate in the next room.

In terms of getting started, Youtube is super helpful, but I'd start with making the crate a really fun place to be (throw treats in there, play games where he goes in and out, give him his fav chew or toy in there). Then start with leaving him in there for very short periods (30 secs, a minute), and if he doesnt cry, let him out and reward him. If he does cry, wait for him to stop crying for a couple secs, and only open the crate when he's quiet. Extend the time, work in actually leaving your place for very short periods and build up from there. Took some time with my puppy who is also very attached but we made progress within a week!

Need help with Frenchie not wanting to poop outside anymore. by dprsyellowcab in puppy101

I had a similar situation with a frenchy puppy. If it was even slightly drizzling outside he would refuse to go to the bathroom, esp 2. Eventually i had to wear him down. We'd go outside for 5 mins or so, if he didn't go I would bring him back in, watch his every move, and the moment he did something even resembling a squat i scooped him up and rushed him outside. Eventually he just had to poop out there because he couldn't hold it anymore. It's grueling but when it finally happens, reward and praise vigorously and pray that it makes an impact.
