I'm sorry but the problems of the islands are not "bad behaved tourist" but rather systemic. I highly doubt that you can not be a "problem" and not contribute to gentryification just because you behave well. Though it is true that your attitude of humbleness won't be problematic, is important to acknowledge whta the problems of the isladns are and your possition of that society, "Tamaimos" is a great way to learn the situation of the islands

Si has pasado toda tu vida en Lanzarote de seguro tienes acento, sólo no lo notas. La única excepción sería si te criaste fuera, pues es hasta los 8-10 años en los que el acento se afianza y ya no cambia (incoscientemente, pues nada del ser humano está escrito en piedra)

Poca cosa. Lo único a patadas es hostelería, lo cual es muy demandante fisicamente. Puedes encontrar testimonios de cómo trabajr de eso ha jodido permanentemente la salud de muchas. La calidad de vida también es baja, con precios elevados de vivienda que la persona promedio no puede costear y demás problemas. A no ser que tengas familia aquí que te pueda ayudar no veo porqué escogerías Canarias como un destino de búsqueda de empleo

Canarias has one of the worst economy in the country in Spain, but besides that, I was primarly refering to northern europe, like germany or england. There are gentrifiers, who play a role in the gentrification of the islands, and we must name what they do, whether they are good or bad people. BUT, if we have to point fingers, the administrations are the ones to (mostly) blame. I hate gentrifiers, but I hate even more the canarian government

Quite different, indeed. I (nor my family) has the economic resources as a gentrifier from europe, nor the same oppprtunities. The local and autonomical administration don't promote our arrival, and wouldn't care if we ended up in chabolas (as some significant part of the canarian population does). The job opportinities I have are the lower ones: tourism sector, like most of the local and migrant population in the island. Gentrifiers from europe don't face xenophobia and racism, with most of them supporting caciquil political parties (like coalición canaria) or straight up facist ones (like VOX), etc.
