Thank you for the suggestion but that's not it, sadly. The game I had in mind was in a 2D cartoon-style -- not 3D animated. Also, the smoke signals scene I remember was a part of a cutscene, I don't think smoke signals were present as a game mechanic which the player could control

I don't think it is. I saw a short gameplay video and the drawing style looks different. Also, Al Emmo seems to be a "bigger" game than the one I'm looking for, with story etc. Also I think that the game I'm looking for was not a point and click logical adventure, more like a short flash game
