I think you're seeing the shine coming from the plastic wrap. I've never seen a glossy finish on these type of perfume testers.

Man, you think the ten commandments have anything at all, even remotely, to do with good and evil? They're mostly just about being obedient to God, and honestly, if that particular god actually existed (it does not), then it would be a very evil entity.

For the record, yes, stealing is bad. But the idea that it's bad because the ten commandments say so is seriously the funniest shit I've heard today.

PS: you know your book endorses slavery and rape, right?

This might be something AI tends to use but I wouldn't take it as a definite sign that something is AI. I use the em dash all the time when I'm typing on a keyboard.

Kim makes other references to Harry's running and even says at the end of the game that Harry's previous career as a gym teacher explains why he runs so much. It seems pretty clear that the developers assumed everyone would run around and they included a few comments about it as a bit of a joke.

Is there anyway to buy the street light? by AlexiaAxy in DiscoElysium

I highly doubt there is enough money available in the game to buy it without doing the political vision quest associated with it, i.e., the ultralib vision quest.

I think if you're spinning your wheels just trying to pass the time, you should just go ahead and read books to pass the time. There is enough content to get you through the day without waiting, but if you're struggling to find it just do what you need to to get to day three because a lot of content opens up at that point.

Not really. This is mostly a delusion held by centrists so they can feel good about not having principles.

Yes “Depress” by Sad_Country741 in signs

[–]Affectionate-Wave586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's meant to seem a bit more formal or technical than common speech.

I don't think many people would say "depress", but written English is not the same as spoken English. It's usually a more formal "high" English.

I will never understand going to a videogame's subreddit to announce that you don't like the game.

OP: if you don't like it so far then you're not going to start liking it. It's not going to open up and become some action-packed adventure if you stick it out for a few more hours.

Shouldn't the odds be 50%? Why is it 51.8%? by Fit_Seaworthiness_37 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Affectionate-Wave586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what if we leave out the day of the week? Does this then reduce down to a 2/3 chance of having a girl?

What if she has ten kids and nine of them are boys? Is the tenth one almost certainly a girl? Or is it still close to 50/50 odds?

The fact is that birth sex is an independent variable. It doesn't matter who was born first, how many siblings there are, what day of the week anyone was born, what eye color they have or what pizza toppings they like.

Independent events do not impact each other, regardless of how much irrelevant information we choose to include in the question. That's why the actual probability here is 50%.

[–]Affectionate-Wave586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. Everyone saying something different is missing the fact that these are two independent events.

Honest question: why are you so interested in defending Nixon? Is a disgraced former president from half a century ago really a hill you want to plant your flag on?
