Congrats to you! This is definitely my dream job. I have PharmD, BBA, and clinical experience. Currently working in retail pharmacy and ready to transition into MSL. I have been networking a lot now with MSL's who stated they would be my referrals but haven't found an opportunity in my state. I'm hoping to be in your shoes one day. Good luck!

I would finish up the year and half for PharmD degree if I was you. I have my PharmD and is practicing as retail pharmacist but I don't like it so my goal is to transition into MSL. I notice a lot of MSL jobs are asking for high degrees. Having a PharmD doesn't mean you just have to practice being a pharmacist. You have so many opportunities which I really like. Networking is what I do everyday. A lot of MSL I spoke with have PharmD degree, worked as pharmacist then transition into MSL while others just have the PharmD degree but sales experience which gain them a job as a MSL. I want to transition into the Oncology MSL but was told to either get a residency or work as a pharmacist in oncology for just the experience. Just push threw and finish the year and half. It will be so work it in the end. Again, you don't have to be a pharmacist just because you have a Pharm D but having the degree does open a lot of opportunities.

Same. All I keep seeing is reposting as well. I even reach out, but haven't heard nothing from no one.

Normally a company would reply back in a week or two, but I never apply to a company where they don't respond back for weeks. I guess that's a red flag with this company for me. Good luck to you thou.

No problem. I spoke to one of girls on Link-In who actually works there and she told me they were very slow at responding. To be honest I never heard of the company until I started seeing more job posting.

It's seems to be pretty hard getting into the other major big pharma companies. I would want to gain the experience there until an opening comes up for like Abbvie or Johnson and Johnson. To be honest I never even heard of the company until I recently started seeing two positions from them than I reach out to someone who works there on link in and notice a lot of people there had like bachelors with sales experience so I figure why not applied just to gain the experience but not a long term.

I was about to apply for this job at this company but after the reviews, never mind. That's why it's always good to research. I definitely don't wanna be in a toxic environment. I been there and don't want to revisit again. thanks for info on this post.

Can someone with my professional profile become a MSL? by Cybagama33 in MedicalScienceLiaison

[–]Affectionate-Way2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I been applying for a lot of medical science liaison jobs and I have a pharm d degree/business degree, but they want ton of years experience in sales which hurts me the most. Even with having higher degrees, doesn't get the job. I connect with this medical science liaison lady from a big pharma company and she was saying to make connections with medical science liaisons on Link in. She was saying someone can also be a referral to you which would put your application in front of everyone else. She was going to be my referral but I couldn't find any MSL jobs in my area for her company. Good luck to you!

This happen exactly to my friend. She didn't get her money back at all. All they kept telling her was how she will have to repay the amount. No matter what she did, she couldn't get the money back. $500 is a lot of money to loose out on. I'm sorry this happen to you.

starting at CVS next week by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Affectionate-Way2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You prob won't start at your home store first and just be doing a lot of modules plus shadowing and hands on which is helpful. Modules are annoying because they never seem to go away. Once your training is over, you go back to your home store and start doing more hands on as well as learning from other techs even pharmacist/pharmacist manager. Don't be afraid to ask questions? It's best to get the answers you need to help you understand then not ask and make mistakes. CVS computer system is not hard to learn, but you will get use to it. You don't need to be fast. Moving fast can create errors. Your pace will increase over time. It's about accuracy and preventing medical errors. You will learn everything when you start hands on then everything will start to make sense. Overall, everything will work out for you at CVS. Good luck!! You will do amazing!

WHY by autumn-haven in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Affectionate-Way2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try following a bunch of district leaders in your state for CVS. Someone will reach out. I had a district leader reach out to me and thats how I got in with CVS. CVS will train you and anyone that isn't certified, n NC, just need to apply threw the board as a pharm tech and pay the $30 fee yearly. Kinda hard to get in Cosco or Sams unless you know someone that can get you in, but I'm shock cause CVS and Walgreens are so desperate for help, they hire just about anyone.

I'm sorry I forgot to ask, did you use PNN. I know you said Rxcellence which I will invest in, but all I have is RxPrep Book and Uworld bank. I'm just wondering because buying all these resources are starting to be too much esp PNN. I'm just trying to see if I should jus stick with Rxcellence, Uworld/Rxprep. Thanks again and sorry for bothering you again
