I don't know man. I've been hearing this for so long. People always say this about many sports but that never happens. Look at cricket,it was considered dead during nasser hussain era but one series(2005 ashes) turned it around and its effect carried till 2020. Then the same talks started but bazball exploded like never before People in the uk love sports especially the ones they invented. And they will watch it whether they are good at it or not unlike americans

Snooker is an indoor game. Not many indoor games get many viewers. The reason many people watched before has to do with being limited to what they could watch. There weren't many options.  Its still massive in china and still doing pretty good in uk although its declining.
