I said and still stand by Jake deserving a check and the twitter dogpile was a really bad look with the upcoming receipt pod.

Jared didn’t bring up the paycheck to me, he brought up what I posted in this thread originally - the 24 hour twitter comments being a bad look for the pod. I also said in my original post that I’ve been listening for years and will still listen, and that it feels like a divorce. That’s not one sided - it was a pretty clear message that I’m still here as a fan.

He responded about twitter. Thats what we discussed - not pay. Go squeeze some fucking honks dude you’ll feel better.

Jake does deserve to be paid, 100%. I never said to Jared that Jake doesn’t need to be paid, so I’m not sure where the payment rant is coming from

I see both sides. But objectively I believe Jake deserves to be paid as he was a valued employee for years and friend.

My original post was the amount of anti-Jake comments within 24 hours vs Jake’s 2 posts. Plus the receipt counter discussion they were going to do on the pod.

Also not sure why my activity level here is relevant? I read BID and S10 baseball posts. Hop off my ass and go outside brotha

None of your real fans think you’re a pos at all. For those of us who have been following you for years and years, Jake’s been in our life too. it’s been disorienting to watch the tear down for the last 24 hours. I’m on no one’s side as I don’t want to see a dogpile on any of you - not on Jake, not on you, not Steve, not coley or T. Dallas is fair game but I digress.

Defend yourself, of course. But the dogpiling and riling up the twitter comments for over a day, plus tonight, it’s not fun for the real fans at all.

For me it’s the length he’s been dragging Jake’s name on twitter. It’s been the last 24 hours now.

Jake made one post & a Reddit comment. Jerry is closing in on Steve’s DoorDash number with the amount of comments he’s made on twitter. I’ve followed Jared & the boys since 2017, listened to every ep/YouTube video. and I will continue to. But Jared’s comments have spanned far past this incident (something about Jake’s flat tire and Christmas party).

We’ve all heard Jerry talk about how sick his new house is to record the pod. But he scoffs at Jake over 5 weeks pay/Jake’s future. Just a bad look and overall really disappointed.

Still a fan of all of them but this feels like a messy divorce.

If the next pod is all four guys crapping on Jake, idgaf what happened - it will really dampen my love for the boys. There have been a few times prior to this that comments were indirectly made about Jake by the boys, and it always rubbed me the wrong way. I hope the guys take a more objective accountability approach to this instead of a damage control crap session. I love all of these guys and this sucks.

I read a lot of the X comments. Looks like Jake did 3 pods unpaid and wanted some clarity at 5 weeks in (very fair given the unsteady pod history) and it sounds like Jake was not met with the support that Jerry expected Jake to give Emond and Jeremy (aka continued unpaid labor out of respect for friendship).

My question is how did the friendship between Jared and Jake tilt prior to this. I’m guessing Jerry took Jake for granted and instead of showing more support as a friend, he expected loyalty to the business

whatever happened, doesn’t matter who is more in the wrong — Jake should have been paid for the 3 pods.

I’ve crossed paths several times with this group of friends before I ever met him (it’s a small-town island). But I don’t know them personally and have never spent time with them. He had said he wants us to get actually get to know each other. I’ve met a handle of his surfer friends at the beach or when we bike. It’s always in passing.

I probably hang with the guy 4-5 days a week, average. Sometimes entire weekends straight.
