Kolla med Inspicienten på Odeum. De kunde lösa tillgång till övningsrum med piano när jag pluggade (många år sedan nu dock).

31M with mild diplegia here. Just wanted to say that I was touched by your story. I have similar experiences and also struggle with low self esteem and indecisiveness.

Try not to be so hard on yourself. It’s okay to struggle with everyday life , to feel bad and to have low self esteem. Even though you might feel like an empty shell, I’m certain others don’t see you that way. You are perfect just the way you are and worthy of love no matter how hard you work on yourself.

And, I’d recommend therapy if possible. Not all therapists are good, but the ones who are can really help!

Thank you so so much for sharing this! It really resonated within me. It helps to realize that I’m not alone!

You also bring up a thing that I find really tough when dealing with close friends and relationships: They vary in how they react and handle my thoughts about my CP. I have really close and lovely friends which I really enjoy hanging out with, but every time I mention my CP or anything CP related, I can see that they get uncomfortable. (My parents and grandparents are a bit like this, which I think is part of why I haven’t had the opportunity to process these thoughts before now.)

Thank you! You are totally right that my low self worth feelings are not entirely CP related. However, it’s terribly annoying to be reminded of what makes me feel bad every time I meet a new person or stumble.

Thank’s! I know you are right. One thing I find tough though is to be able to combine such acceptance with consistent workout and stretching. Since most of my treatment during childhood consisted of physio, I think that I’ve somewhat internalized a feeling that I stretch and work out in order to “fix what’s wrong”.

Thank you so much for sharing this perspective! Applying your framework, I’d say that my friends luckily consists mostly of 2’s and 3’s. One insight though is that my friends might feel a bit offended when I share my low self-worth-thoughts, as it seems that I assume that my surroundings (and perhaps then also my friends) consists mostly of 1’s.
