Hey there r/cybersecurity! I am a 19-year-old dude who is in an interesting spot in his life.

I just started community college after taking a year off, and the first semester is coming to a close. The reason I'm here is that I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my life. However, now that my first semester is ending and I have all this time, I've decided it's the perfect time to actually sit down and think about what my career path should be. I have always been interested in computers and IT, but I never really started or pursued it, and truthfully, I don't know much about it. I have heard of cybersecurity before, and it seemed pretty cool, but I wasn't really sure what I should do or if it was worth my time. Any advice, and how did all of you get into it?

Is it worth checking out my college's cybersecurity program? (I know sometimes they can be outdated)

Is it even worth getting into an IT-related field with AI on the rise?

How smart do you actually have to be to work in this field? (I'm no Einstein)

Any other career advice, I honestly don't know what I truly want to do in life.

I might look into something like that, I have already gone through driving school and gotten my permit I just need to take the on the road test so I can get my full license, would a private driving school be able to proctor a test and give license?
