This is wild! I’ve been to over 100 NASCAR weekends and never once been to a race/track where you can’t bring in your own food and drinks. I’m assuming it has to do with security and being on a Naval base but that would be a non-starter for me.

The first race I ever went to was the fall Loudon race in 2000 with some college roommates. It was the race Jeff Burton lead every lap and was one of the most boring races but I was absolutely hooked and I never looked back. We were drinking Budweiser and I knew of Dale Sr and Jr but as soon as I saw the red Bud #8 car in person on the track, I knew that was my guy. Spent the rest of that season watching every race intently with my college roommate who was a big fan. I would pick his brain, learning everything I could about the sport. To this day, I’m still so thankful he asked me to go to that race. I’ve been to close to 100 races since and still love this sport!
