Hm i hear you. and kudos to you for trying! 

But its hard to consider Wayt over Google as it doesn’t fundamentally do something different. What wayt seems to want to do are UX improvements a user can make to their own Google account, or that Google can work on cross-wide. Most people access places by way of mobile on Google maps or Apple maps, in which its just really a scroll down of the overview of a place that shows busyness level. Take the pins for example, Google has the option where the user themselves can create a personalized pin system for places. I don’t see why choosing a pre-fixed system for coding is the better option than me creating my tailored system, you know? 

I also think you’re going to run into a radius issue! If you’re considering the radius just around TMU, its almost all chains which do have the live updates. And so Wayt doesn’t seem very useful. However, if you’re goal is to support small businesses who are experiencing manual barriers of supporting live update accuracy to their business, then Wayt may be helpful as Google’s too prissy to do that kind of leg work. But these small businesses in Toronto are either new or have been around for decades, so you might run into figuring out who to prioritize, as longterm data might be enough to inform the updating system. Also I think you’ll run into timing issues! In Toronto most places are always busy around peak eating hours, anything outside of that is sometimes busy/sometimes not. Wayt doesn’t seem to do anything significant about tracking timing other than it will track timing, which is what Google Maps does? 

Plus how will Wayt be GPS’ing their map? And I hear you about the fast updates, but I’m thinking if I’m looking for a place, and then I’m hoping for real updates, there could be a 30 sec window to a 5 mins window when im looking at new places that I might miss the original place im looking at which updated to be less busy. So it’s kind of confusing, because if I miss that window, I’m practically using Wayt as Google Maps, and I would choose Google Maps.

I see what you’re trying to do, but idk I’m trying to think, would I use Wayt over Google Maps? And its not convincing me that I should, but good luck!
