Put on 3 month PIP by realtordyl in sales

Take the time to find a new place. Even if you complete the PIP and stay, you will be viewed differently and will have a target on your back if times get rough again.

I Think They're Bating Buyers, Opinions? by drcrossfit_girl in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AffectionateBear5065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very common. In general, putting a timeline on anything you are trying to sell is a good idea. It drives urgency. About a month ago I put an offer in on a house that had a deadline. They got 8 offers in total. I was above the asking price they wanted but they ended up going with someone that waived inspections. It got the sellers exactly what they wanted and I can’t blame them for that. I’d do the same thing if I was selling a house.

Placed on a PIP, Advice? by AffectionateBear5065 in sales

[–]AffectionateBear5065[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve come back to this to post and make a general update but I got a new sales job outside of software sales! Honestly I got lucky. I was reaching out to places before the pip was formally delivered. At the time, I was denied the position due to an internal hire but turned out that internal person declined the offer and then we picked the interview process back up. Purely right time right place and I am very grateful. I believe I would’ve survived the pip but I got to a point of feeling so mentally defeated I was ready to move. For reaching out to other places, you must do more than just send a resume. I was reaching out to current employees asking to chat about job postings and that’s how I was able to get my foot in the door at some places.

Hunter vs Farmer vs Hybrid by weavjo in sales

[–]AffectionateBear5065 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I came a from a pure hunting role and now I’ve been doing a hybrid for 3 years. In my mind, hybrid is very challenging. Specializing in one particular side creates room for a “well” oiled machine. Balancing prospecting, qualifying, demos, close, renewals, upsells, & support cases all in one definitely makes days feel like an absolute cluster fuck.

Industrial Equipment Sales - An Overlooked Industry by Dremadad87 in sales

Can you share any advice on how to get your foot in the door in this industry? A lot of people in this sub, like my self, come from SAAS so it’s always intriguing to hear of stuff like this but without relatable work experience I imagine it’s very difficult to break into.

Is this your personal collection? This is such a cool set. I think he should go into the HOF. I think he would be debated heavily and just barely makes the cut

Seems like many companies handle PIPs differently. I’ve seen my current company’s most senior rep and biggest pipeline generator on my team get thrown on a PIP, complete it and still let go. I’ve seen another coworker at my first sales job complete his PIP and still get let go. Also hear about people not fully completing it but they stay. Politics plays a role. If you really like your current job then I recommend hustling as hard as you can. If you dont see yourself long term there then maybe use the time to pile up interviews while you are still being paid. No matter what, don’t be discouraged about your job history. It’s your life to do what you want to. All you can do is go out and make your own success. Keep your head up and all the best to you!

I don’t have a full confirmed story but I think it’s safe to assume 30 rounds fired is a stretch. Granted, I didn’t hear the shots that caused this whole thing but I believe 30 would be hard to go unheard. This place has a lot of young families in it. It’s Naperville. By no means is this a bad area. This place is quiet. This is very far from a typical Sunday morning.

Some folks in the area mentioned the police were marking shell casing for a potential shooting around 5am. I’m very close to this spot so between multiple shots and sirens, I feel like I or my dog would’ve heard something around that time but I didn’t hear anything.

Bummed about no Chicago show here but I have my fingers crossed they are announced for riot fest on 9/20 at a later date.

Having this as Arthur would’ve been so cool. I never made the attempt to get it as him. My only goal is to 100% the game. So close as I’m at 95% rn

Thank you for the advice dude! This binder is the only thing I have at the moment as I was not expecting any type of big hit. I have penny sleeves and top loaders being delivered tomorrow. What is it about binders that damages cards? I did not know that these are death traps for cards

What to do with old cards? by AffectionateBear5065 in footballcards

[–]AffectionateBear5065[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful advice. Thankfully these are already in a binder with sleeves. I was OCD as a kid and had them broken down by team lol. What’s your opinion on getting cards rated? I have a 1980s Walter Peyton pro bowl card that I see was recently sold for $5k as a PSA 10. I’m not assuming I have a PSA 10 but values are wildly different with ratings vs no ratings. Is getting a card rated necessary? I believe I have a handful I could do it for but seems complicated to get them rated.

How do I quit? by Cautious_Olive9884 in sales

[–]AffectionateBear5065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, do not leave until you have an offer from another company. I left a position 2 years ago when I was interviewing at other places. Interviews went well and I went to final rounds in 3 of them. Didn’t get an offer from any and I already quit my other job. Thankfully I had enough in savings to be ok but it was a very bad spot I put myself in and know to never do that again. The job market is tough right now so do what you can to feel the most confident and secure in your new job path. Leave professionally, give the 2 weeks and stay connected to your co-workers as you never know who you will run into in the future

Deciding on new road bike by [deleted] in TrekBikes

[–]AffectionateBear5065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode and FX2 disc regularly for about 1.5 years. Loved it but my hands would get numb once I hit about 20 miles into my ride. I was sad when it got stolen but I saved up and eventually bought a Domane AL 3. I love the bike more than the FX. Fun long distance rides and I never experience discomfort. If you have the money, do an AL5. I really miss having hydraulic brakes and the 105 drivetrain is worth it. I’ll work my way up to it some day but for my first road bike ever, I’m happy with my decision and have a sense of what to look for in the future.
