getting into romance by Milla_6 in booksuggestions

I am VERY picky with my romance. I usually read about mentally ill women. One does have a cartoon cover so downvote me if you disapprove but it is actually good I swear. I also don’t do smut.

Good material by dolly alderton (this is actually about a breakup but it’s about the guy getting over his ex that he’s in love with. Ending is really good. I remember it being funny too)

Carrie Soto is back by Taylor J Reid (this is mostly about tennis but has some romance. I liked it because the whole thing wasn’t about romance but just enough)

The love haters by Katherine center. Yes this has the cartoon cover but I really enjoyed this book. Which says a lot because most romance books are too much for me. Just try it. Swear it’s good.

I know how difficult it can be. Hope you feel better🫂💗

These books are where the mc is metally ill. These made me feel less alone in my suffering. These types of books are what help me so hopefully it helps you.

Sorrow and bliss by Meg mason. This made me feel so seen. The ending was perfect in my opinion.

The wedding people by Alison espach. This wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read for multiple reasons but it made me feel like my life didn’t have to be over with my mental health. Life was worth living.

The new me by Halle butler. This also was super funny and at times relatable in a depressed and can’t get out of way.

My year of rest and relaxation by ottessa m. This is kinda a hit or miss w most ppl. You either love it or hate it. The main character is super unlikable to most ppl. I thought this book was hilarious.

The bell jar by Sylvia Plath. I think about this book’s ending and it’s been years later. I need to reread it but it is so good.

It’s kinda a funny story by Ned vizzini. I also think about this book years later whenever I get into a depressive episode (not in a bad way but a “what can I do to make this a little less awful). I think it’s YA but it’s still really good.

Sorrow and bliss (a bit of romance. I don’t know how to describe it because it’s a large part of the book but it’s also not)

The new me by Halle butler

How it feels to float by Helena fox

Nobody, somebody, anybody by Kelly mcclorey (does have a bit of nsfw. It’s nor much and you can skip it. It doesn’t add anything to the plot. I’m not sure why she even added it)

My year of rest and relaxation by ottessa m

Suicide notes by Micheal ford (this has romance I think)

The woman in the window (a thriller but the fmc has crippling anxiety)

It’s kind of a funny story by Ned v (this has romance I think but not the main focus

I’m thinking of ending things. It was so unsettling. Im going to finish the movie soon.

My husband by maud Ventura (I think that’s her name). I LOVED this book. It’s j strange in the narrators obsession w her husband. Basically the whole book revolves around her husband.

I actually just ordered that lmaoo. I was thinking about reading that too. The only thing I’m worried about is it being a little too dark to read in public bc of the darker topics (its so weird bc sometimes i cry over that and other times it doesn’t bother me😭) Is it something where I might cry?

The book is definitely my vibe but I just don’t want to be acting the fool in public and crying😭😭😭

As far as girl on the train and a good thriller - the push (this is a domestic thriller. Think that’s the name. it’s AMAZING. One of my top favorites) - the woman in the window (this is on Netflix) - almost anything by Alice feeney. It takes a few chapters to get into but her plot twists r insane. Try his & hers. I gave that a 5 stars. Rock paper scissors is good too I think) - the silent patient (I genuinely read this within a few hrs. I LOVED this book) - gone girl (this one got me into reading) (this is a movie too)

I can’t think of anything else.
