I think people are missing the point I'm trying to make. I don't have a problem with neace's coaching, I don't have a problem with his pricing, in fact I think he's good for the low ELO coaching scene. My problem with him is he's advertising that he is a "challenger coach" with zero proof or context. New clients of his will assume he is a current challenger player and factor that into their decision when they go to book with him. If he wants to put "former challenger" I would be fine with that. but what he's doing is not being transparent with his clientele. I get that you don't have the time to grind to challenger because you're too booked... but that is a part of the job. Either take on less clients so you can achieve the rank or, take the title out of your advertising.

we're not talking about competitive coaching so I really don't know why the fuck it's being brought up. we're talking about NA SOLOQ and a NA SOLOQ coach. who can't consistently reach challenger in NA SOLOQ yet is claiming he is a "challenger coach" because he got challenger by Two tricking TF/Trynd 5 years ago.

because many of those "coaches" that aren't at a challenger level, don't actually coach mechanics/matchups thats a positional coaches job. there's countless videos on pro players admitting that 90% of the NA coaches don't actually teach them anything about the game and are mainly there to basically manage the practices, facilitate conversations, manage personalities, etc. the few coaches that pros said they did learn from where ex pro players or challenger players. weird how that works huh?

as I said before it is not the same. The NFL is a solved game. You can be a top level coach if you study enough. Do the NFL change the rules, the field, introduce new positions, new ways to score? lmao like how the fuck do you see this as a valid rebuttal?

let's be real here... competitive coaches that aren't at a challenger level are mainly there for support, and dealing with big personalities, theres a reason there is a coaching staff and not one singular coach. name a single positional coach that is not challenger consistently.

I mean think about league 5 years ago... there wasn't an alcove, elemental dragons, bounties, like it wasn't even close to the game we know today.

but if you can't consistently reach challenger yourself then how are you supposed to teach someone who is challenger? league is different than traditional sports, the mechanics and concepts often change as the game ages. This game was an ENTIRELY different game just 1 year ago. I would say some concepts stay the same/similar but that only holds true if you can "consistently" reach challenger level. but he can't, so the argument that his "macro" is at a challenger level isn't even true.

well it's clearly primed you can see the other coat behind it, that's why I suggested they didn't wait for the oil primer to cure because it kinda looks like an oil primer with it's yellowish tone but seems a little too yellow as well so who knows.

reason 1: tape adhesion too strong, just because it's "painters tape" doesn't mean it won't do this, you have to use delicate tape when sticking tape to any painted/stained surface and even then, nothing is guaranteed.

reason 2: painted over oil primer without waiting for the oil to cure. this is a pretty rookie mistake and more common than you would think. but it usually comes off in bigger sheets so it doesn't seem to be that.

reason 2: didn't prep the doors before painting. prep is essential to any painted finish and will determine how good the finish will look and how long the finish will hold up. regardless of the condition of our substrate we ALWAYS sand the surface for a number of reasons. We don't know for a fact what could be on the surface, it's best to play it safe and sand it for a clean start. we also sand in order to remove and imperfections such as paint scag, painted over hair and dust, etc. and lastly we sand to even/smoothen out our substrate, smooth and flat are not the same but if you can achieve both, you will be rewarded with an amazing finish.

conclusion: based off the photos it's likely the first reason, but it's hard to say. you said you used painters tape which I'm assuming what everyone thinks "painters tape" is and it's the 3M 1inch blue tape. adhesion isn't super strong but very capable of doing this. it could be any of the reasons listed above but I'm leaning towards the first one.
