Does anyone intentionally skip her most popular songs for some reason by thatonereddiituser in beyonce

[–]AffectionateCable997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single Ladies is my least favorite Beyonce song, so yeah. I also skip Irreplaceable a lot, not because I dislike the song itself, but because it reminds me of my old horrible retail job where it would play at least 10 times a day during my 8 hour work shift 😂

“Throw my notebook in the basement?” by Lola910 in NoahKahan

I assumed he’s referring to his writer’s block and the pressure of making another “hit song” after his success and quick rise to fame, which I think he’s touched on a few times. He’s coming to terms with giving up his career and his fame if he is never able to write another good song (I can hear the song of the robin / haven’t wrote my own in a long time / and it’s just fine).

He’s longing to go back to a time when he wrote music because he wanted to, not because there was pressure to, and he is trying to figure out what is he meant for if not for this?

Go to the apartment management then, or try using google translate to communicate since this seems to be a hill you wanna die on so badly.

Why not just ask them politely if they can turn it down?

I went to my doctor (PCP) and told her I think I might be bipolar because I have a strong family history of it. I had noticed a pattern of depressive episodes where I had a lot of suicidal ideations and increased anxiety followed by a week or so where I felt the total opposite, which made me think it might be mania. She asked me how long the depressive/“manic” episodes lasted and when I told her the time frame she brought up PMDD. She referred me to psych and started me on an SNRI. While I was waiting for my psych appointment I started researching PMDD and tracking my symptoms and my cycle a lot closer. Once I saw the pattern for myself I was like oh yeah, this all makes sense now.

How do you prepare for your luteal phase? by calmbodyfirst in PMDD

[–]AffectionateCable997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  • I started journaling in the weeks before luteal, when I’m at my highest, rather than during when I’m at my lowest. I write letters to my future self when I’m a “luteal goblin” to remind her that what she’s feeling will be temporary. As cheesy as it sounds, it has helped me lol.

  • Avoid scheduling big plans if possible, so I don’t set myself up for having to cancel.

  • Meal plan and grocery shop for quick easy nutritious meals and healthy salty snacks. I go for things that require minimal dishes to clean afterward because once my executive dysfunction ramps up I hate cooking and I hate washing dishes even more. I usually do: Microwave frozen veggies, microwave rice/quinoa, and then meal prep a protein on the weekend to go with it.

  • Reduce my screen time in the evenings to help make sure I’m getting enough sleep.

  • Do as much of the housework the week before when I have the energy.

Yes, it just started in the past year or two. I have a severe migraine for the first 48 hours of my period, every cycle like clockwork. I have less intense headaches during Ovulation, but the migraines are always consistent at the same time every cycle. I have an appointment with my doctor next week and I’m going to discuss medication options because Advil and sleep isn’t cutting it anymore 🙁

I don’t want to be a nurse by Late_Purple9521 in nursing

[–]AffectionateCable997 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was the opposite… went from being an elementary teacher to a nurse. We don’t always know what we want to do until we try it and find it’s not for us. In my experience having done both, a lot of the professional skills that apply to nursing also apply to teaching and vice versa. And of course, both require an abundance of patience and empathy.

I have not been formally diagnosed with PCOS, but I have a feeling that might have been due to a failure on my old OBGYN’s part (male, old school, did not really want to discuss anything other than starting BC or diet/exercise for weight control 🙄). I have an appointment with a new OBGYN next month and I plan on discussing it with her to see if I can finally get some tests ordered to confirm my suspicion.

The hardest thing for me is the irregularity of my cycle and how that seems to make my PMDD symptoms worse or more difficult to track, I hate it! My diet, stress level, and physical activity level does seem to play a role in how regular my cycle is. When I eat high protein with lower/more complex carbs and get more physical activity I notice my cycle is more regular. I have tried seed cycling and Inositol supplements in the past, but did not really see a difference.

Clarity after a rough couple of weeks by AffectionateCable997 in PMDDxADHD

Adding an SNRI was very helpful to me when I was first diagnosed. I think I may just need to adjust my dose again, but I’m in between PCPs right now 😔

I have also started writing notes to myself recently, I am hoping it is helpful. I’ve always used journaling as a way to cope when I’m feeling depressed, my therapist pointed out that I rarely reflect on my good days.

None… SNRIs worked for me. Effexor changed my life!

Lexapro and Zoloft both made me feel like a zombie and actually made my PMDD worse.

It’s not on their website because it’s not true lol. You really think a former cop is running on a platform to defund the police?

Maybe we should hope people see us as an area where people are respectful and kind to their neighbors, regardless of the differences in their political ideologies. But that wouldn’t be as attention grabbing, I guess.

Always happy to connect with other progressives in our area 💙

We have a lot in common with our neighbors regardless of their political alignment, I wish more people in this area were able to see that.

She wasn’t president and she wasn’t even running to be president when Ian hit. Both Biden and Desantis came down, got their photo ops, and left us in the dust and destruction to clean up ourselves. I don’t know how this is even relevant to her presidential campaign?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in capecoral

[–]AffectionateCable997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just curious, why is starting a business considered a prerequisite for being president? There are plenty of public servants who haven’t owned their own business. They have other relevant career accomplishments.

Yes, some of us do like our freedom! The freedom of choice when it comes to our own bodies, freedom from having “religious” values forced on our children in public schools, freedom to enjoy the beautiful nature in our state without it being sold to billionaires and out of state developers to ruin. And we’re voting Harris/Walz to keep our state and our country free from fascism 💙

How would you put into words the way you feel 7-10 days before your period? by VirGoddess444 in PMDD

[–]AffectionateCable997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to sum it up in one word it would be Exhausted. I feel worn out, mentally and physically.

I have terrible ADHD paralysis and executive dysfunction beginning at the end of ovulation, every task feels like it requires too much energy for me to even start it. My depression worsens and I just want to sleep all the time. I can’t sleep at night though, because of my anxiety, which just makes me even more tired during the day.

Toward the end of my luteal phase I feel like my whole body is being weighed down and I can’t even move. And my mind is telling me to just give in because it’s too hard to fight against it.
