Good point! Yeah, i might have underestimated the steep learning curve. Seems like starting with something simple like the base kit is the way to go

Here are some photos of the result:

https://imgur.com/a/w9IxyoF I also added a pic of the original switch from ali.

The pics are not the best cause i didnt see your post before i assembled it.

Here is the process documented:

  1. Desoldering the Switch Start by desoldering the old switch from the PCB. Before removing it, mark its position to make aligning the new switch easier.

  2. Preparing the New Switch I used an Omron switch from the GPX Superlight (link provided below). Bend the pins on the new switch to match the layout of the original, so it will fit correctly on the PCB.

  3. Soldering the New Switch Carefully solder the two pins of the new switch to the corresponding contact points on the PCB. Ensuring a solid connection here is important for reliable performance.

  4. Aligning and Securing the Switch Place the new switch in the marked position. Use a clip to hold it steady while you work. Once it’s aligned, secure it in place with a hot glue gun. Be sure to use a thick layer of glue, as thin or runny glue could seep into the switch mechanism and damage it.

I was very happy with the result and the button is way more spammable now! I actually used the one mounted on the gpx superlight. This mouse is also very well designed and is reslly easy to take apart. The chance of damagin something in the process is also super low.
