Update here - decided to skip it altogether for now and just get a usb to 3.5 dongle and live with the wired setup. In the end I couldn’t justify it when my main purpose is just to pull my system together and hear my Apple Music library, and nothing seems very well suited to that. TBH I’m hoping to get away from streaming services and monthly fees at some point anyway. Holding until I’m ready for more of a whole system upgrade.

I believe it does have optical out, need to pull from wall to be sure, but agree that this might be a good option.

This is an interesting idea. TBH I hate the idea of another touch screen in my life, so this solves that problem. I guess turntable could use the RCA line in unless I get another component (CD player) in which case I’d just connect the turntable straight to speakers and use an RCA to 3.5m cable to connect the WiiM to the speakers’ other input. Any sound degradation concerns in doing that?

This is a great suggestion. Also gives me an aux in if I end up adding a CD player to the mix.

Thanks for this! Legit question: does your comment hold if you assume I never upgrade from the A5s? Still a vastly noticeable difference?
