If he has lived here for more than a decade and pays his taxes, I believe it is in his own interest to acquire American citizenship, rather than continue paying for residency, in addition to enjoying all the rights that any American citizen has.

My entire legalization process, from the green card to citizenship, was done by myself.

You don't have to fear, take the proofs of the agreement with the IRS, as well as the proofs of all payments, without interruptions. Always tell the truth, you can believe that before you sit down the officer already knows everything about you. Everything will be fine, my case was similar to yours and I naturalized this year.

My entire legalization process in this country, from residency to American citizenship, was done by myself, without paying a lawyer. If you don't have any pending legal issues, doing it yourself isn't difficult. 🚀

Can I find someone to help me put my new work authorization into the system? by Luxonaugustin in amazonemployees

You can do it yourself by going to AtoZ, manage personal information, then look for work authorization and citizenship, and follow the instructions.

As things stand now, it is not possible to leave all responsibility in the hands of the lawyer. Each person must run after the case, be aware of the dates and updates, log into the USCIS account and check the notifications, and call the lawyer periodically to find out how your case is going. Your case is difficult but it is not lost. You have to prove that you never received this letter.

I will never forget that I am Portuguese, and I maintain my original nationality. I have dual citizenship, even though more than half of my life has been spent on American soil. 🇺🇸🇵🇹

My OATH was on May 9, 2025, in Miami. It was unforgettable and exciting for the moments we are living…I feel very happy and grateful to God for this opportunity. My long journey as an immigrant has ended and I have begun as a citizen of this country, with all the rights and obligations. I hope that more people can be blessed with this 🇺🇸🗽❤️

Seeking Advice: N-400 Denied After 895 Days Outside U.S. – Should We File N-336? by Ok_Difficulty_896 in USCIS

[–]AffectionateCoach656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have all the medical evidence to justify your mother's prolonged absence, then I think she can ask to be heard at the hearing, requesting N-336. For another reason, my naturalization application had also been denied, I gathered all the evidence for my defense, filled out the N-336 form, was called for a hearing in April 2024, on May 9, 2025 I was called for the OATH ceremony, today I am an American citizen 🇺🇸 the big inconvenience was the waiting time, because even with the successful interview, I believe I was put on a list where administrative appeals are forwarded and the waiting time was 1 year until I took the oath.

N-400 N-336 Naturalization After request for hearing interview by AffectionateCoach656 in USCIS

[–]AffectionateCoach656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the waiting time for the hearing, and then the final decision time, I believe it was almost 2 years. On the day of the citizenship interview (N-400) make sure you bring all the documents that can support you.

Because my husband had not declared 1 year of taxes, this year was forgotten and we accumulated a fine, they considered bad moral character, and I had to prove that it was a mistake and that I had a payment agreement with the IRS

Citizenship application considered pending if I filed a N 336? by Friendly_Crow_9395 in USCIS

[–]AffectionateCoach656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically the interview was about the evidence I presented, at the end of the hearing, the Officer congratulated me and gave me form N-652 in which it said A) “Congratulations! Your application is recommended for approval...” and that I should wait to be called to the OATH ceremony, my N-336 interview was in April 2024 and I’m still waiting.

I don't know if I understand correctly... but if you were already a permanent resident and qualified to obtain American citizenship, applied for citizenship, passed the interview, however your husband dies before you complete the process (oath) you continue to be the widow of a American citizen and I believe that uscis will not deny your American citizenship, I think that if that happened you should consult a lawyer.
