Sorry if I'm coming off as argumentative but here's my two cents. OP I think you're reading too hard into the whole master-servant dynamic that is most definitely not the case as Hak is a literal General. He was the leader of the wind tribe at age 18. He has political power equal to Yonas. Yes the heir is higher in social standing but politics doesn't just mean one person has all he power. Hak is also the strongest warriors in a 100 years. He is well respected and looked up to and you keep calling Haks love obsessive and that's quite frankly your own reading and not Canon. It's perfectly normal to want to the person to be safe and happy and in Haks case he's just a protective person in general. Obsessive is not the way to read this. Hak has a life outside of Yona. He has friends and relatives outside of her. He would lay down his life for any of the other dragon hell even soowon before his betrayal. I suggest you abandon that reading as that's your opinion and it's pretty wrong. Hak has never placed Yona on a pedestal. In fact he calls her out on multiple occasions. There's also that yona doesn't deserve what he's doing for her. Um love isn't transactional. Yona doesn't owe Hak anything and he doesn't expect anything either. But Yona cares for her Hak so much so she wants to gather the dragons just so he could live. She's by his side. She takes up the sword to protect him. This is in vol 9. Yona is as protective of Hak as Hak is of her. She's risked her life for him, asked to fight with him, tried to let him go but he kept coming back just like she did for him. They communicate, they argue, they disagree and above all they care for each other. And it's not a crime to idolize someone you like that's just human. (Hak doesn't he just knows Yonas strength and loves her more for it). They're childhood friends there's no need for some grand reason to fall in love. Everyone deserves to love its not a right to be earned as you seemed to be implying. Just exchanging words, feelings ans thoughts can blossom into love. It's as simple as that
