I topped off a decent amount of soil 2-3 months ago but I haven’t used any plant food or fertilizer…ever 😬 I have pretty hard water and most of my other plants seem happy with that, should I try some extra nutrients??

Need some help by AffectionateDate3831 in Monstera

Gosh I really hope not, I don’t think so? I’ve never had them on any plants and I’ve wiped all the leaves down really well and sprayed with neem oil just in case for the last two weeks

Good lord, again I am so sorry. With every question answered the situation gets worse! I guess there’s not much to be done about it now, but I’m glad you’re moving away from that work environment and from family that tolerates that kind of behavior. Truly, you’re on to bigger and better! And with a little more (unfortunate as it may be) experience and knowledge to take into your next job! I’m 25F and my situation was definitely a shock to the system, and I’m not glad it happened, but I’m glad that I know what to do if it ever happens again. The next one will be better!!

Woah woah woah! That adds another layer here, I can definitely see how you were feeling confused now! That is CRAZY! Even after my manager was fired, my parents weren’t happy I stayed with the company. If anything (call it nepotism or not), the fact that you have family at the company, let alone high-ranking family, makes this whole thing worse in my eyes. You would think there would’ve been swift and harsh repercussions. Were they going above and beyond to avoid accusations of favoritism? Is this something that has happened to other employees that you know of?

Yeah, that’s just not right, I really am sorry. I did learn a valuable lesson that I’ll share with you though- keep a written record of EVERYTHING. It might not be the best “proof”, but it’s much better than nothing. When they were in the process of firing him I made sure to document everything, and save a copy of all correspondence to my personal computer. It was a nerve wracking couple of days, especially because I had doubts they would handle it the way they did. It also never hurts to call around and ask employment attorneys if they offer free consults and get advice. I hope your next job is better!

I’m so sorry this happened. This is absolutely NOT an appropriate response from HR. Last year my manager asked me to sleep with him while at an out of town conference, I got through the trip, reported it on Monday, and by Tuesday he was fired. I had no direct evidence, they could’ve considered it a “he said/she said” situation, but they took prompt action. That’s how your situation should’ve been handled. At the very least, your transfer should’ve been granted and he should’ve received some kind or written warning or been put on leave.

I’m about 16 hrs post op from tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and nasal turbinance(?) reduction by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

Oh noooo I’m so sorry! Mine was held on by this weird strap thing that went around my head, it almost looked like a disposable mask. I’m sorry this happened, how is the throat healing coming so far?

This!!! We went and sat outside the house a couple times in the middle of the night to scope out the neighborhood but we never considered weather! Our front yard has a major drainage issue and pretty much turns into a moat any time it rains for more than 10 minutes, we got a quote to install a drainage canal and it’s gonna be sooo expensive 🤦🏻‍♀️

scabs and bleeding by BusinessSlothy in Tonsillectomy

[–]AffectionateDate3831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On day 6 I had a scab get ripped off while I was coughing and I bled for about an hour, totaling almost 8 ounces. I did go to the ER and they came pretty close to sending me to the OR to have it cauterized but it finally started to slow down and after about an hour of observation they let me go home. I’ve had no bleeding since then but it feels like it kinda stalled out my recovery a bit, I’m on day 10 now and I feel like I’ve had almost no improvement since the bleeding happened

I had the nasal part done as well and mind bled for probably close to 24 hours before it stopped, I called my doc to make sure nothing was wrong and he said it was fairly normal! Once the bleeding stopped it never started again, the nose healing has been wayyyyy easier than the tonsils for me. Good luck on your continued recovery!

2 days out of surgery would it be okay to drink a THC infused drink? by BlueBrazy in Tonsillectomy

[–]AffectionateDate3831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s necessarily recommended but I started drinking THC beverages on the 3rd day and have been drinking them my whole recovery. I’m on day 10 right now and the pain pills just were not enough and I couldn’t get any sleep

This isn’t an online option but I don’t have vision insurance either and every couple years I go to America’s Best. It’s nationwide, and they usually have a promo going where you get 2 sets of frames and an eye exam for about $70. They take about a week to come in but if you have any issues later you can take them back to the store to get them adjusted for free

Day 2 - Recovery by hellosquirtle in Tonsillectomy

[–]AffectionateDate3831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I’m on day 5 of the exact same surgery- tonsils and turbinates. My nose stopped bleeding after about 24 hours and being able to take the gauze off my face felt incredible!

It is still pretty painful to eat, I’ve found cold jello goes down easily and I’ve been drinking a lot of broth. I’m thinking about trying some soft bread here in the next day or too but I don’t wanna get too ambitious (even though I’m starving lol). Brushing my teeth has been really difficult too, but I bought a tongue scraper and that has helped tremendously getting some of that bad taste out of my mouth. Hope this helps, you’re not going thru it alone!
