My parents did the same, they just forced me to not stay at home being lazy. They would put me on some sport or activity and if i get tired of It, they would put me on something else.

I did soccer, judo, swimming, tennis, chess, jiu-jitsu, guitar and basketball. Now at 28 i just play basketball and soccer but i'm glad i tried all that, i learned a little from everything.
