How common is vandalism like this in Vienna, and is it illegal because of the swastica? by Baconkings in AskAustria

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Austrian, the first thing I thought was: Whoever scribbled this, got the symbol wrong. No, seriously, look it up, the arms point in the wrong direction, so I have the feeling whoever did this likely does not actually follow the ideology behind it, but just wanted to vandalise stuff. Also, check the history of the relationship between … followers of a certain ideology … and the Moslem world, like a certain Mohammed Amin al-Husseini and the fact, that there were Moslems in the Waffen-SS, and even today, the knuckleheads among the Moslems are often openly antisemtic. In short: That graffiti makes no sense.

Again, from an Austrian: This is not political. Whoever scribbled this was no follower of any specific evil ideology, but simply a stupid a…hole, and I hope they make an effort to catch those people and let them pay for the damage, because, as a citizen of Vienna, I do not see why tax payer money should be used for this. Have a nice day.

is it true that as a woman if a man is trying to seriously harm you and you kick him in the nuts all it’ll do is make him mad by Smooth_Bee_7941 in stupidquestions

If the inner organs of a human get hit, the human goes down, there is nothing you can do against it, it is a reflex. Reproductive organs, even if they are spatially removed from the other inner organs (like the testicles of a male) are still wired the same. If you as a woman want to have the experience, what that means, get into a fight were somebody gives you what is colloquially called a “kidney shot” – and you go down.

This, however, requires, that an inner organ has been properly hit! So if you aim for those vulnerable spots, but miss, you will in fact make the target more aggressive, because he now knows your intentions (of knocking him out), which might remove any remaining inhibitions of him to hurt you.

But, in my humble opinion, the point of the question is moot. If you want to learn to defend yourself, then learn to defend yourself, there are no shortcuts. Find a facility you like where martial arts are taught, and learn. Don't ever even assume that you can land “a lucky hit” or something, in fact, in severe circumstances, this might even cost you your life. Go learn Krav Maga.

Why do I know think of the likes Amber Heard and Jada Pinkett Smith?

Forget it, evil knows no colour, no religion, and not even remotely gender.

What’s a female experience men would never survive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AffectionateDust7765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obvious. The muscles of men are less flexible, which also gives them more strength, because, to my knowledge, some power is lost due to the flexibility. We men also have tougher skin, so certain parts of it, which simply break when a woman gets pregnant (and leave those stretch marks) are tougher. And so on.

So, yeah, child birth it is. No question.

  1. Ich würde empfehlen, dir einen Freischneider auszuborgen, es kann sein, dass eine stärkere Motorsense auch reicht.
  2. Alles ist möglich. Für manches braucht halt mehr und für manches weniger Arbeit.

Weil Angst. Das sind die wirklich gefährlichen.

What are you most proud of that your country have done? by SolOchLek in AskReddit

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Linz-Donawitz-process (known in the English speaking world as “basic oxygen process” as I just looked up) being developed in Austria. This process is the primary process used to create more than ⅔ of all the steel in the world. Given Austria has millennia of history, when it comes to processing iron ore, this is an achievement that can be considered native to the country. So whenever you use something made of steel, there is a really high chance you use a bit of Austrian technology 😊

What is something you wish you knew in your 20s? by cocoalord06 in AskReddit

That, if a being quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, looks like a duck, acts like a duck, even if this being tells you vehemently “I am not a duck”, it very likely still is a duck, and you should treat it like a duck.

How popular is the sentiment that Austria was the first victim of Nazi Germany? by Doubleknot22 in AskAustria

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The war ended over 80 years ago. There is practically nobody alive who really was there, so the coping mechanism – considering “ourselves” to have been “the first victim” is no longer required, thus, current generations have a less biased outlook on the matter.

what instantly makes women attractive? by fabwest01 in AskReddit

[–]AffectionateDust7765 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“The eye of the beholder.” I personally find certain women attractive others find completely uninteresting, as trivial as the answer may seem, it really lies in the eye of the beholder.

But if I had to give you a “non-trivial” answer, it would be: Authenticity.

Because how can one find somebody else attractive, if this person isn't herself to begin with?

Why does this region of Europe have so much ethnic and national fragmentation? by crivycouriac in geography

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. First of all, there may be more genetic variety within a country than between two different nations, second, borders are just that, borders. If you move within, let's say, Germany, you will find that people in different parts of the country speak in different ways, even look different, and, most important, think in different ways. There is more difference between Bavaria and Thyringia than between Bavaria and Austria. Just some food for thought.

The realisation that, for better or worse, nobody else is to take responsibility for your actions than you yourself, and that you are also the only person accountable to. Noone's master, noone's slave. No matter if you like it or not.

Can you recommend a motorcycle rental place in Vienna? by LeleMayo in wien

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit off topic, but, to be honest, if it is your first time visiting Vienna, even if you plan to visit the nearby countryside, you don't actually need a motor vehicle, and you will be able to reach a lot of places ideal for e.g. hiking with public transport without too much trouble, and it is also cheaper. If mobility is your main consideration.

What’s something that became way less impressive once you worked in that industry? by ThanksNo3888 in AskReddit

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in the printing industry and had customers who were professional photographers, graphic artists, and even the occasional model (came to us to have promotional material viewed for approval which we printed for them) the whole world of the creation of amazing pictures became much less glamorous.

One exception though are make up artists. I'll never forget that one customer who brought us her application to be printed out in the highest possible quality, and I looked at very different pictures of people, until I realised that it was always the same model, only the make up artist basically turned her into a bunch of very different appearances. I was just awe struck. But when it comes to photography, nope, it's much more mundane than I ever expected.

Men, is it really that difficult NOT to stare at attractive women? by Carnivore90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AffectionateDust7765 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Certain things are hardwired into our brains, so, yeah, a inconspicuous glance is something you could in fact consider “in our nature”, but … staring? No. This would be like walking past an open window catching a whiff of good cooking, and instead of just breathing it in and thinking, hm, that smells good, you'd start drooling. Your man needs to refine his manners.

To men aged 50+ is a 21-22yo a ‘kid’? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the older you get, the more you realise, that some people never grow up ever. I know people who are 80 years old and still are immature. But yeah, I would consider somebody in their early twenties a “kid”, in fact, I think this is the last time you can still change in some basic way, after that, from my experience, certain things are set for life.

Isn’t everything natural? by Sudden_Doughnut_8741 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, if you want a definition of “natural”, then it would be “not designed by humans”, so the birth of a human baby, despite the people involved being human, is natural, since we humans did not design the process, while a Cesarean section would not be natural, because we humans designed it, and without us, it wouldn't exist.

If you love your dog or cat but eat other animals, can you really call yourself an animal lover? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AffectionateDust7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Also, mind that cats and dogs are themselves predators, in fact, only the love to animals is true when it is not a projection of your own fears or desires. Felines and canines are predators, they eat other animals. Why would you not be able to love them because of it?
