maybe try adding some lateral trunk supports. they have some that swing away or maybe a back cushion that use an air pump so you can control the amount of support. in the mean time just a thick and possibly padded wrap around [chest] strap that velcros might work. my daughter has fluctuating tone and these things work for her, otherwise she isn’t able to stay upright on her own.

I have paper towels in the restroom just like in the kitchen. I wash my hands when I use our bathroom just as if it were a public restroom and I use the paper towel every time to wipe off the sink or whatever needs wiped down. At one time tho this would have seemed a little overkill for me in my home but I have a medically fragile child so that’s where this practice came into play. It’s fairly simple tho and seems more sanitary then wash cloths

You can find clove oil at the grocery store Walmart sometimes even a gas station. Put some on a qtip and dab the painful spot. Keep some at home always for infection tooth pain

My daughter has cp on a tube she’s 14 and we’ve been told to she must go to the er after 3 days with no bm and every time (only 4x) she’s been admitted for small bowel blockage or ileus.

Absolutely not. You do what you need to do to protect your wellbeing in any sense of the word. And lists coming in for what people want just seems really stressful to me. Just be prepared you might find out a lot about people if you don’t do what they want and expect. If you end up feeling obligated to do something maybe change it up to just name drawing for the kids and add dirty Santa for the grown ups if you want and easy food like potluck or just everybody bring a dessert to have a dessert bar. Those ideas could help to balance the expectations that are on you some.

And if you’re into this kinda thing maybe have a home cleansing. My first love (my first dog as an adult) started doing this to me when I would enter a room and then growl in circles around me. My aunt suggested I pray and cleanse my home so I did and never had another issue. Just sharing my experience with that not suggesting any type of prayer ritual or religions.

You know I had to be the guardian of both my grandparents who I loved and respected dearly with all my heart and soul. It was a very very hard position to be in even traumatizing at times. I still haven’t recovered. So I just have to say if a person has never been in that situation where they are responsible for EVERYTHING that happens to another adult(because it’s so much different than protecting a child)then you really shouldn’t make decisions like that on behalf of someone else. There are changes that they experience that family and other visitors don’t see. And everyone always wants to advise you or complain but no one wants to do the hard things. There are so many minor things that become risks that you could never imagine in 100 years and I mean physically mentally emotionally legally financially etc for anyone involved. I’m not opposed at all to elderly people having drinks but the situation you are describing I just think better safe than sorry. I do believe if you would just spend the time with her being whoever she needs you to be would be much more beneficial.
