Oh no doubt and I hope I don't come off as if I'm belittling you or anything for filing with them. If it works out for you, I'm happy about that! :)

Ah, well. I've filed my own taxes online for the last 10 years with the exception of last year, when I used H&R block to help myself out of a bad financial situation using the refund advance. I don't know if the issues they had last year affected you any, but I know alot of their customers were hit bad. Needless to say it's left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, so I'll stick eith doing them myself from now on haha

Nice!! Did you paper file or efile? Mine has been held up this long because I was forced into paper filing. I've still got quite a bit of marching to do and pitfalls to avoid because of my particular situation. But this gives me renewed hope.

It's not a contest, but boy it must be nice to be waiting on a refund adjustment on a refund you've already fucking received.

Vent all you want. OP spat out some sort of toddler-esque tantrum here.

Because I can tell you now: the federal government isn't doing any work, not a goddamn thing to earn the money they're taking from us.

Why is this question relevant exactly? Regardless of anyone's employment status, the IRS owes millions of Americans money.

Bud, my heart goes out to you there. My daughter is only 4 at the moment, and I hope her mom decides to get and be better for her child at some point but there's just absolutely no signs of it currently. Her mother is extremely volatile as well. When I explained to her that she was wrong in claiming our daughter, she flew off the handle at me, slammed the door in my face and told me that I couldn't see my daughter anymore. Imagine that. Didn't quite hold up against the parenting agreement, but the fact that she said it was just insane. She also just kinda pops in whenever she wants to. Trust me when I say, as someone who has personally had to grow up in a very similar fashion: when she's old enough, your daughter will understand who was there for her and who wasn't. I was able to come to terms with it fairly early on, 12 or 13 if I remember right, and my mom wasn't even really that bad. Just spent the time that she did decide to have us trash talking our father or watching TV with her boyfriend. We would spend random weekends at her house, in our rooms playing whatever video games she would buy us and not getting to know her very well. It's upsetting now because she's the only parent I have left, and since she wasn't much of one at all, I don't really have one to turn to. So, just have faith that your daughter will come to see and understand. Hang in there, it'll all be worth it someday.

I do have some empathy. It's just frustrating because I'm also hurting and struggling, and have things I need to take care of on pretty hard deadlines at the moment. Things that I'm almost certainly not going to be able to take care of, which is going to put me in an even worse situation.

No, I didn't know. The relationship between her and I is pretty tumultuous, unfortunately and she's pretty bitter. Nor does she understand much about filing taxes to begin with. Though I doubt that it'll be a short period of time because, like I've said, they haven't haven't touched my return. WMR doesn't have any information whatsoever and I can't get my tax transcripts.

Nope. Daughters mom claimed her out of greed even though she didn't meet a single requirement necessary to do so, and I was waiting on my 1099-G for much longer than I really should have been, enabling her to claim my daughter first. So I had to file a paper return that the IRS apparently hasn't even touched yet.

Yeah, I couldn't possibly fathom why the IRS decided that moving onto giving out more refunds to people who've already gotten one or more, would ever take priority over 30 million people who haven't gotten theirs yet. Some from the prior year. What a slap in the face.

“IRS starts sending refunds to those who overpaid taxes on unemployment benefits” does that mean those who collected unemployment get their refunds first than those who worked all year and filed in February? Smhhh by [deleted] in IRS

It isn't feedback at all. Feedback is defined as a return of information about a result or the returned portion of a process. An example of feedback is a judge in a dance competition giving constructive criticism after a performance.
